Subject: RE: BS: 2002 Mudcat nearly nude calendar out now From: Genie Date: 22 Dec 01 - 05:44 AM Well, given the way Micca manipulated his magnet bear last year, next year I might be able to pull of my shtick with 3 kazoos after all. And Alison could use a penny whistle and a harmonica ... Let's hear it for digital technology! Genie |
Subject: RE: BS: 2002 Mudcat nearly nude calendar out now From: Liz the Squeak Date: 22 Dec 01 - 11:47 AM Can't help but feel hurt that no one has commented on the size of my tankards....... LTS |
Subject: RE: BS: 2002 Mudcat nearly nude calendar out now From: Genie Date: 22 Dec 01 - 12:23 PM Well, I noticed, Liz, and I'm envious! Genie |
Subject: RE: BS: 2002 Mudcat nearly nude calendar out now From: Sorcha Date: 22 Dec 01 - 12:49 PM Yes, I noticed! And I also noticed a N-word bratling---isn't that called Child P-word??? (chuckle--wouldn't want our cat showing up on THOSE sites now would we?) |
Subject: RE: BS: 2002 Mudcat nearly nude calendar out now From: CarolC Date: 22 Dec 01 - 01:21 PM I'm wondering why nobody's noticed that I'm standing on one foot while playing an accordion. Not everybody can do that, you know. Maybe next year I'll have to juggle accordions or something. |
Subject: RE: BS: 2002 Mudcat nearly nude calendar out now From: John P Date: 22 Dec 01 - 04:10 PM I've been working on waltzing while playing the accordion, but I haven't tried it in the nude yet. Since I have a hurdy-gurdy in the calendar, I suppose we could make jokes about whatever turns my crank . . . JP |
Subject: RE: BS: 2002 Mudcat nearly nude calendar out now From: Genie Date: 22 Dec 01 - 08:04 PM Well, Carol, In a couple of pics that I did not use,* I had my guitar turned upside down ( with the neck by my knees and the base by my chin -- not quite like you would hold a violin). I like the kind of body coverage I got that way, but I doubt that I could have done very good chording and fingerpicking in that position! Just how long can you play standing in the stork position, Carol? That takes real talent! Genie *I didn't use them because they were not the best takes of my face; it had nothing to do with the guitar position. |
Subject: RE: BS: 2002 Mudcat nearly nude calendar out now From: CarolC Date: 22 Dec 01 - 08:21 PM Just long enough to take a picture, Genie ;-) |
Subject: RE: BS: 2002 Mudcat nearly nude calendar out now From: Sorcha Date: 22 Dec 01 - 10:50 PM Well, I can dance a jig while playing it, but I don't think I want to take a picture..........."things" would bounce and make the picture all blurry. |
Subject: RE: BS: 2002 Mudcat nearly nude calendar out now From: Genie Date: 22 Dec 01 - 11:41 PM Well, Sorcha, my picture (at least the copy I sent Alison--- not the original digital file) ended up all blurry, anyway, and I was lying down! Carol, if I lose a few pounds by next year, I may try your standing up instrument-playing pose, too--balance challenge and all. That's a neat picture of you, anyway! Genie |
Subject: RE: BS: 2002 Mudcat nearly nude calendar out now From: CarolC Date: 22 Dec 01 - 11:58 PM Thanks Genie. I haven't seen anyone else's picture yet. I'm waiting until after Christmas to order my copy. |
Subject: RE: BS: 2002 Mudcat nearly nude calendar out now From: SINSULL Date: 23 Dec 01 - 12:08 AM Haven't ordered mine yet. But I did get a preview from Micca. Luccky Gail stood still. |
Subject: RE: BS: 2002 Mudcat nearly nude calendar out now From: katlaughing Date: 23 Dec 01 - 01:48 AM I think you all look really nice. I'd love to be able to levitate my dulcimer the way Homeless does, or...maybe I don't have the right *equipment*!**BG** And, Allan and John both have really interesting looking *instruments*. BillD, I take it that is the famous basement from which you produce such magical volumes as that one which told women how to improve their bustlines? Stacks and stacks, man!! I think Micca is in his optimum environment when ala naturale...he looks so happy about it. All of you Udder Mudders look really lovely. Thanks, ya'll!! kat |
Subject: RE: BS: 2002 Mudcat nearly nude calendar out now From: Liz the Squeak Date: 23 Dec 01 - 07:25 PM It would be Child P... if we made money from it. As it is, getting her to keep clothes ON is the difficult bit..... LTS |
Subject: RE: BS: 2002 Mudcat nearly nude calendar out now From: Bill D Date: 23 Dec 01 - 07:36 PM yep, that's the place......ah,kat, my dear...all those dusty tomes, and you STILL have you eyes on the one that is of questionable merit...*grin*... I truly would hate to part with it, but 'perhaps' an inter-library loan?...we shall see. (wouldn't it have made an interesting picture if that were what I was reading instead of Percy's Reliques?) |
Subject: RE: BS: 2002 Mudcat nearly nude calendar out now From: Allan C. Date: 23 Dec 01 - 07:46 PM Glad to have peaked your interest, kat. I was just about to issue an apology for my photos. But yes, I suppose they are interesting and perhaps even funny in an oddly pathetic way... |
Subject: RE: BS: 2002 Mudcat nearly nude calendar out now From: Sorcha Date: 23 Dec 01 - 07:59 PM Yes, Liz, I remember that part. The only way we could eat dinner in peace was for Kate (now 17!) to have her Nightly Naked in front of the fireplace.........she was very little then--3 mos or so. Couldn't even sit up yet. She would kill me if she knew I was telling this! |
Subject: RE: BS: 2002 Mudcat nearly nude calendar out now From: Liz the Squeak Date: 24 Dec 01 - 02:15 AM At 3 months it's cute, at 5 &3/4 it's starting to get worrying, especially when she starts dancing... we're thinking of installing a pole! LTS |
Subject: RE: BS: 2002 Mudcat nearly nude calendar out now From: GUEST,Sonja Date: 27 Dec 01 - 09:53 PM Kat, I, too, have been marveling at how Homeless is keeping that dulcimer up! Pretty good trick. Homeless has a wonderful way of "wearing" his instruments, don't you think--like the bum-warmer banjo last year? Sonja §;-) |
Subject: RE: BS: 2002 Mudcat nearly nude calendar out now From: GUEST,Mudcat Forever Date: 29 Dec 01 - 11:08 PM C'mon, folks. It's almost time for a new calendar. Mudcat needs your support, even if most of the folks in the calendar ain't wearin' none! It's only $10 and well worth it, if only to support the cat! MF |

Subject: RE: BS: 2002 Mudcat nearly nude calendar out now From: WyoWoman Date: 04 Jan 02 - 11:04 PM AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!! I just got mine. AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA What a complete hoot. Er ... hooters ... er ... big, honkin'autoharps ... er ... Welp, anyways, it's truly, truly a sight to behold and I, for one, am proud to be among such colorful company. Sorry my photo is so colorless: it was taken at night in a hot springs and was pretty misty. I can see from comparing it with the rest o' youse that I shouldn't have been so modest in my cropping of the photo's borders. Lord knows no one ELSE was ... Ok. Next year .... hmmm ... lessee ... maybe if I hold a piece of sheet music ... ww |
Subject: RE: BS: 2002 Mudcat nearly nude calendar out now From: Genie Date: 05 Jan 02 - 03:08 AM Well, Wyo, I didn't know until after my pictures were taken that I was allowed to crop them! Oh, well, we live and learn! Next year do we get to see you in technicolor? Genie |

Subject: RE: BS: 2002 Mudcat nearly nude calendar out now From: breezy Date: 06 Jan 02 - 10:36 AM Where can we get one on the eastside of the ocean? |
Subject: RE: BS: 2002 Mudcat nearly nude calendar out now From: alison Date: 06 Jan 02 - 07:22 PM where is the eastside? what country? Bill Sables is looking after the UK side of things.... so if you're in the UK... please send him a PM....... slainte alison |
Subject: RE: BS: 2002 Mudcat nearly nude calendar out now From: bill\sables Date: 06 Jan 02 - 08:18 PM If anyone wants to buy a callendar in the UK I will copy it onto a CD and include last years as well and at no extra cost I will add a copy of the Digitrad. For all this, which includes postage and packing, I think the charge should be at least £10 but if you don't agree just send the equivalant in sterling of $10 US. It all goes to mudcat anyway. Plus!!! I have Mudcat tee shirts in all sizes and Mudcat patches (Sew on cloth badges with the banjo/fish logo) so if you order a shirt or patch at the same time I could send it all in one package and save the extra postage. Shirts by the way are £12 and patches £3.50 Bill |
Subject: RE: BS: 2002 Mudcat nearly nude calendar out now From: CarolC Date: 08 Jan 02 - 10:35 AM Great calendar everybody! You did a gorgeous job, alison! It really is a work of art. ( ...definitely intrigued by the dulcimer) |
Subject: RE: BS: 2002 Mudcat nearly nude calendar out now From: Mark Cohen Date: 08 Jan 02 - 02:25 PM Well, the calendar survived its journey halfway across the Pacific....and I'm still trying to get my tongue back in my mouth. I'll let you all decide what got it hanging out there! Maybe next year I'll manage to send a photo from a black sand beach. Hmmmm...guitar or ukulele....guitar or ukulele...? Aloha, Mark |

Subject: RE: BS: 2002 Mudcat nearly nude calendar out now From: Genie Date: 09 Jan 02 - 03:46 AM Well, now, Wyo, that presents an interesting prospect for folks next year. We're supposed to be nude except for our instruments, so on the premise that "the voice is an instrument," we could get some really interesting photos next time, right? Genie |

Subject: RE: BS: 2002 Mudcat nearly nude calendar out now From: bill\sables Date: 21 Jan 02 - 05:41 AM Sorcha, I am selling the calenders. I put them on disc with a copy of the DT and last years calendar and sent them to catters in the UK. It is easier to send £££ to me than to send $$$ to Max, then all cash is transfered to Mudcat in one transaction via Dick Greenhause. Bill |

Subject: RE: BS: 2002 Mudcat nearly nude calendar out now From: Stilly River Sage Date: 02 Oct 02 - 08:13 PM Is there a Nearly Nude 2003 calendar coming up? Anyone have a thread with that discussion? (I should offer to pose with the dulcimer--hardly fair to hide behind the piano--I'm in great shape after a summer of digging up the yard, putting down floor tile, moving, painting, etc. You'd have to excuse the bruises, though). But I bet all of the months are already taken by this bawdy group. SRS |
Subject: RE: BS: 2002 Mudcat nearly nude calendar out now From: Genie Date: 03 Oct 02 - 03:21 PM Alison posted a new thread a month or two ago about a 2003 calendar, but she said something about our having "done the nude thing to death" or something to that effect, and she suggested folks pose as a favorite folk song character. To me, that sounds complicated and maybe even expensive (unless you regularly performe in costume). (Of course, the "woad" folks' 'costumes' would be fairly easy-- and just a gradual transition from the old calendar format!) As to all the months being "taken," Alison has sometimes had two folks "share a month." Also, as Mudcat keeps looking for ideas on fundraising, I find myself wondering how much $ the calendar has brought in each year since its inception. Whaddya think, Alison -- do we have a spot for Stilly hiding behind a dulcimer? Genie ¤;-) |
Subject: RE: BS: 2002 Mudcat nearly nude calendar out now From: skarpi Date: 03 Oct 02 - 03:58 PM Halló all , I have to say that the picture is and has not been taken yet, there´s a reason for that, becouse I am about to be in a magasin in some of next weeks so I am gonna ask them to take two or three photos of me extra. So Alison If you are gonna make another calender witch I hope you do then send me an E-mail. My body is changing every week now so may it would be best to take picture after about three months or so??. All the best Skarpi Iceland. |

Subject: RE: BS: 2002 Mudcat nearly nude calendar out now From: alison Date: 07 Oct 02 - 07:57 PM from what I heard we raised a couple of hundred dollars with the 2 calendars... but Max dealt with that so you'd have to ask him to get the total... I know Bill Sables sold some in the UK too slainte alison |
Subject: RE: BS: 2002 Mudcat nearly nude calendar out now From: Genie Date: 08 Oct 02 - 03:39 AM ... and at $10 a pop, that's only about 10 calendars sold per year. Heck, there are more than that many people IN 'em! Not that it wasn't a fun project (for everybody except Alison, probably), but that doesn't sound like a very lucrative fundraiser. Genie |
Subject: RE: BS: 2002 Mudcat nearly nude calendar out now From: Pene Azul Date: 08 Oct 02 - 04:16 AM I sent out a least 25 of the 2002 edition (quick check of my email folder). More were sold that were not sent by me. Jeff |
Subject: RE: BS: 2002 Mudcat nearly nude calendar out now From: Genie Date: 08 Oct 02 - 11:27 PM That's a little more like it, Jeff. Glad to hear all of Alison's hard work netted more than a couple hundred bucks for the Cat. Genie |
Subject: RE: BS: 2002 Mudcat nearly nude calendar out now From: Stilly River Sage Date: 08 Oct 02 - 11:40 PM Personally, I didn't buy one because I prefer a hard copy of my calendars. Any chance of a few being printed on spec, and letting people buy them? If you need answers about printing processes, layout, stuff like that, someone who is involved with the process can PM me, and I'll get quotes for you from the folks I work with here at the University Press at U of Texas/Arlington. Others can undercut them, but since I deal with these folks all of the time I can get straight answers for you. (Keep it black and white and you can keep the costs down). Maggie |
