Jacqui, I only listened to a few tracks -only a few mudcats so far- and you sounded wonderful! It was so good to hear Kendall doing Phoebe Snow, which he did for us at a jam several years ago. But I need to send a note to Righteous Babe Records to get that Emmylou track. (Or I can wait until the CDs arrive and make my own, but who can wait?)

Good luck with the award, but the nomination alone is a huge honor for which you can be very proud.

I'm still walking on air telling anyone who will listen. The guys at work didn't believe me until they did a GOOGLE search and found it. They were REALLY impressed that Ani DiFranco was involved. LOL

Phoebe Snow is my very favorite Kendall song. Assigned myself the title Head Groupie after he sang it at Barry Finn's house.

If he wears that leather jacket and black hat, keep an eye on the women Jacqui. I want him back in pristine condition. Come to think of it, keep an eye on Dan too. Those pretty eyes and all...

That is odd about the Emmylou track. Must have been a hicup in the system, so it's good that you can mention it to them. (Though I didn't know about the download thing until you told us). You can hear the Emmylou track as a sample track by going to the Righteous babe site, clicking on the Singing through the Hard Times page, and then clicking on the track list. There's a little icon next to four of the tracks - click on that to listen. One of the four is the Emmylou piece.

It's a masterful piece of work, with Emmylou Harris, Mary Black, Russ Barenberg, Aly Bain, Jay and Molly Ungar, Davy Spillane, and Jim Sutherland. Talk about an all star band!

At our concert tonight in Camden, Maine, we told the audience about "Singing Through the Hard Times" and the Grammy nomination. At intermission it took about five minutes for the 8 copies to sell out, followed in rapid succession by at least 20 paid orders for it.

Called the website and all is either fixed or being worked on. Apparently their server went down yesterday and they're using a new system which still had a few glitches. Just got an email with the missing Emmylou track (gorgeous duet with Mary Black) and all is well.

Curious to know if Sinsull had the problem downloading the mp3 tracks after her CD order.

The server at Righteous Babe was down over the weekend. It should be fixed now.

Only a few tracks have the icon because they're samples, to encourage people to buy the CD.

I got interviewed by a writer from the paper in my home town, Machias Maine. To them it is a big deal. Machias is a small town where everyone knows everyone elses business but they buy the paper to see who got caught.

Makes you wonder how many other "near truths" are published every day as fact.
The important thing is getting the word out, Captain. More sales, more publicity.
Dan knows you wouldn't try to claim credit for his work. Hopefully the DC papers are doing the same but with Dan getting all the credit and some old people in Maine mentioned for licking stamps and sealing envelopes.

Oh, I can see the ripple effect now. Jacqui finds a beautiful, vintage outfit which just begs for a custom-designed necklace and earrings. When the Hollywood folks go gaga over them, she can hand them a StonePeople Designs(c) card and our fortunes will be made. We'll have a cottage industry designing and doing beadwork (those of us who do such things) for all those stars and we'll spread the wealth among ourselves, Utah's widow and our own three Producers!

Hate to be a wet blanket, but (I have never watched the Grammys) my understanding has been that the broadcast of the ceremonies has never extended to the "esoteric" stuff like folk. If I'm wrong on that, and we can hope to see the presentation on the tube, when is the time? We're not "no TV" people, but we watch so little we don't even keep schedules or keep track of such things.
