Subject: Source for MacArthur Harps From: Ferrara Date: 05 Apr 99 - 05:21 AM Some time ago there was interest in finding a source of MacArthur Harps. It turned out that the only two instrument makers who produced them are no longer doing so. I've learned that, once in a while, you can find them on the "Lark in the Morning" commercial folk instrument web site. Prices look pretty reasonable. Since there's been some discussion about my harp lately, I thought I'd throw this out FYI for anyone who was interested. |
Subject: RE: Source for MacArthus Harps From: DonMeixner Date: 05 Apr 99 - 01:14 PM Hello Ferrara, I would suggest you try Andy's Front Hall on Wormer Road in Voorheesville, NY. Thats in the Albany area and just a hillside away from Altamont where the Old Songs Festival is held. In fact the Oldsongs Festival is or was an Andy Spence Production. I'd send my search in that direction. Don Meixner |
Subject: RE: Source for MacArthus Harps From: Ferrara Date: 05 Apr 99 - 09:54 PM Hi, Don. I'm not looking for one, I already have one. Just belatedly listing a place where other interested folks can look for them. At any rate, if I ever get to Old Songs I'll look for Andy's Front Hall, because it sounds worth a visit. Thanks. - Rita Ferrara |
Subject: RE: Source for MacArthus Harps From: Sandy Paton Date: 05 Apr 99 - 11:25 PM Andy's Front Hall always has a booth at Old Songs. Mostly books and portable items, but they're always there! You and Bill oughta come up this year! We'll keep a couple of chairs warm for you in the Folk-Legacy tent. Sandy |
