Subject: Brian Boru harp From: Eleanor Date: 30 Mar 00 - 08:53 PM Does anyone know where on the web there is information and especially photos of the "Brian Boru" harp? I seem to have hit a brick wall with the search engines... thanks! |
Subject: RE: Brian Boru harp From: Big Mick Date: 30 Mar 00 - 09:13 PM I don't know about where on the web, but a friend of mine who builds harps, bodhrans and various stringed instruments has a book with a picture of what is left of the harp. It has significant damage. From that picture he built a replica and, based on the designs in the existing harp, filled in what he thought it would look like. The result is magnificent. I will ask him what the title of the book is that has the pictures. And perhaps I can scan the pix, both of the original and Jim's replica and email them to you. I know he researched this project incredibly well. All the best, Big Mick |

There are dozens of harp pages, many with references... This one has a photo and some text on it specificlly, and other links if you look... http://www.standingstones.com/wireharp.html Since I do not know how to make a blue clicky thing and learn slowly. It's a ways down the page, don't give up! -J |
