Bodhran players weren't happy either when we doubled up there session with the children's trampolining workshop should have seen there faces. it was nearly as good as the huurdy gurdy players who were asked to slice up some onions for the Blitherscrum Burger Van run by local residents E.Coli and Sam Anella

Bodhran throwing competitions? I remember a time when folk festivals were much too staid to allow anything like that. The nearest we ever got to a bodhran throwing competition was a fastest bodhran competition. We piled all the bodhrans into a heap and set fire to them to see which one would burn the fastest. Unfortunately nobody mentioned that we weren't suposed to throw the bodhran players on as well.

The trouble with this festivasl is that there're always too many great things going on simultaneously. And always somewhere else. Ah. Maybe I should have been concerned when I was greeted with "Here's your special programme."

Still, I hear that many people did have a great time.

Matron says I can go next year.

She says the goings on at Blitherscrum are saner than rest of the year at her establisment and have a curative effect.

A few more Blitherscrums and I may be allowed to apply for a discharge

I thought that Blitherscrum Social Services decision to allow the Don't Care in Community mob to attend allowed us to have an ASBO workshop was inpired. Some of the new verses to 'What shall we do with the drunken Social Worker' were interesting as was the the Catholic (Don't Tell the) Truth workshop. Their denial of choirboy abuse was simply mindboggling.

Followed the sat nav directions. Had to give the old sat nav a thump or two as it kept cutting out and panicking when there were road works. (Turn around when possible).

However, it was a great festival. Food was lovely, beer well kept, the singers were amazing with lots of variety. The concert stage was filled with excellent guests and the fringe singarounds were electric with wonderful local singers. The campsite was well run and the grass was comfortable. The loos were clean and sparking and the villagers most welcoming!

It was great! Then I found out that my sat nav had let me down! I was at the Much Chortling folk festival, not at Blitherscrum! Oh well....there's always next year!

The toilets were a great improvement on last years.. at least the holes in the ground had tents over to afford a little privacy.

Unfortunately the shanty workshop was not what I expected and I spent the entire weekend erecting a lean-to on the side of my tent.

Well, The Festival went really well again this year with more attenders than ever.
Jezlo, Vinegar Butt, Bossy Pally Erval and Mya Karding were brilliant as usual and at the singaround there was some raw talent. If you attended and want to give your own mini review, please feel free to do so.
Incidentally for those who don't know.....The Bodhran frisbee competition was won by Chuck Long.
