Subject: BS: Sexual Fantasies and our past From: Ed T Date: 23 Sep 11 - 06:42 PM I found this article on where our sexual fantasies come from interesting. Any connections or discussion on this or any related topic out there in Mudland? What Our Sexual Fantasies Say About Our Past |
Subject: RE: BS: Sexual Fantasies and our past From: gnu Date: 23 Sep 11 - 06:58 PM I don't need to review my past to know ya can't beat a blowjob. Technically, I suppose that isn't a fantasy but it's the first thing that came to my...ahhh, mind. |
Subject: RE: BS: Sexual Fantasies and our past From: Ed T Date: 23 Sep 11 - 07:00 PM But Gnu, where did that come from, early folly with a vacumn cleaner:)? |
Subject: RE: BS: Sexual Fantasies and our past From: Bill D Date: 23 Sep 11 - 07:02 PM Well, what he says is pretty straightforward and obvious, but it is seldom easy to directly trace a fantasy to any specific past event or family attitude. Sometimes it's just the desire for variety......but I suppose the desire for variety, as opposed to plain, regular and familiar can be presumed to be a matter of upbringing and accidental events. Look at 'food'...my favorite metaphor to explain sex. We know gourmet cooks who love new items and spices and flavors. We also know those who could eat hamburger with catsup everyday. (I can expand on the metaphor at great length) *shrug* My past (childhood) was fairly tame...my family didn't do much, and did NOT talk about sex...so I learned what I learned from books mostly...(no, not from 'the guys'...I didn't trust their superficial treatment..*grin*) (You didn't think I was gonna TELL you about the nun, the goat, the leather cummerbund and the trampoline full of jello, did you?) |
Subject: RE: BS: Sexual Fantasies and our past From: GUEST,999 Date: 23 Sep 11 - 08:39 PM Sheeeit, Bill, other than the leather cummerbund we could be twins. (That's because I don't know what a cummerbund IS.) And to think, people called us sick. Pshaw! |
Subject: RE: BS: Sexual Fantasies and our past From: Amos Date: 23 Sep 11 - 08:40 PM All due respect and all, but I think this article is largely built up out of watered-down neo-Freudian codswallop. The energies and constructs of the individual mind do not, in my experience, fall neatly into this sort of categorization, and his model of causality in thought is primitive at best, as far as I can see. We weren't ALL fortunate enough to be raised on a ready supply of jello, you know! |
Subject: RE: BS: Sexual Fantasies and our past From: Bill D Date: 23 Sep 11 - 09:23 PM My mommy put canned fruit salad and teeny little marshmallows in jello. I don't think I've eaten anything like that since I left home. but in a trampoline? Hmmmmm... Old joke: He is pursuing her...she says "I hope you don't go for kinky stuff!" He says.."Well, just the nun, the goat, the leather cummerbund and the trampoline filled with Jello." She: "Oh, that's not so bad....wait! What kind of Jello?" He: "Ummm...lime." She: "Pervert!" (so... fantasies vary. But I'd guess they used to be a lot more individual and not terribly complex....with exceptions. But now, the WWW has made it possible for those with small ideas to meet others and synergistically do fantasies AND variations on a theme. Some people 'discover' fantasies they never would have imagined 20 years ago. 35 years ago, I actually worked in an 'adult' bookstore for awhile, and there were a limited number of 'classic' fetishes/fantasies that the industry catered to. Now it seems there are infinite variations.) (Mudcat has a jello pit. I leave it to you to decide who has fantasies) |

Subject: RE: BS: Sexual Fantasies and our past From: GUEST,999 Date: 23 Sep 11 - 09:23 PM Spoken like a true Jello-deprived guy. WE, who like sheep, refute you, sir. HTH are you, Amos? PS, IMO, most books ever written about sex have been little but bull--stats and not much else. I dream about bananas when I lack potassium, not when I want to peel something. I thought about small tunnels when my pager went off at 2:30 AM and I considered I might have to GO into one. Women are ok, sheep are fantastic, but for sheer ecstasy, a melon. Sheeeit. |

Subject: RE: BS: Sexual Fantasies and our past From: Ed T Date: 23 Sep 11 - 09:39 PM Jello with pits? Scary. I won't try that one. Or, is it Jello with pith? |

Subject: RE: BS: Sexual Fantasies and our past From: Bill D Date: 23 Sep 11 - 09:46 PM The was a young gaucho named Bruno, Who said "There's one thing I do know!" "Women are fine... and sheep are divine, But llamas are numero uno!" Hey...who remembers Dr. Eichenlaub? The therapist who recommended the "Ice spurred special"? Now THERE was a fantasy/practice not many shared! |

Subject: RE: BS: Sexual Fantasies and our past From: Ed T Date: 23 Sep 11 - 10:27 PM Company develops underwear designed to block infrared see-through snapshots KUMAGAYA, Saitama -- In a bid to prevent people taking sneak see-though snapshots of female athletes using infrared photography, a sports equipment manufacturer here has developed underwear that blocks out infrared rays. The underwear was produced by Cramer Japan. The company's president, Takashi Hokazono, said he hoped it would help athletes feel more at ease. "It will probably release them from the fear of not knowing when or by whom they will next be photographed, and allow them to concentrate on their events, leading to better results," he said. Infrared rays can pass through many materials, and when taking photographs with special equipment that blocks out visible light, there are cases in which the skin underneath people's clothing can be captured on film. In recent years, there has been an increase in the number of people using infrared light to take sneak see-through photographs of female athletes and children at school sports events. Sporting groups and school officials have raised concerns about such photography. Some swimsuit manufacturers have already released products that block out infrared rays, but there have also been calls for the introduction of protective clothing for other sports. Cramer Japan introduced its products after being approached by the Inter-University Athletic Union of Japan over the problem. It spent two years developing the clothing with textile manufacturer Toyobo, and Toyoshima, a wholesaler and trader of fabrics. The first item in the line of Cramer Japan's "Shot Guard" products is a pair of underpants. By blocking out infrared rays with underwear, athletes can wear their uniforms and school sports gear on top without worrying about being secretly filmed. The company plans to keep improving the material and is set to introduce new products such as breast pads. "By introducing conditions that make photography more difficult, the number of malicious photographers will decrease, and we hope that our products will be of some help in eliminating such photography altogether," Hokazono said. The underwear retails for 2,000 yen apiece. (Mainichi) __________________ |

Subject: RE: BS: Sexual Fantasies and our past From: JohnInKansas Date: 24 Sep 11 - 07:38 AM Some years - - well, decades - ago I came across a book providing a summary of the theories of some 30 or so famous psychiatrists. The book was very well written, and gave excellent summaries for the ones I knew something about, so I can assume that the rest were summarized with equal accuracy. The author made one disastrous mistake, however, by including a brief "bio" of each psychiatrist before proceding to the description of their ideas. In each case, the bio alone was sufficient to predict what the theories would be without the necessity of reading the explanations. I think it's quite apparent what kind of early family life the author of the cited article likely had, although I didn't find enough original content in my brief reading of it to be all that ineterested. One quite notable practicioner that a friend consulted, and asked me to accompany her to offer "consultation on her condition" for the psyc, explained (when my friend asked "what's the difference between a psychiatrist and any other doctor,") that: "in medical school all doctors are expected to take a course on mental health treatment, and most courses include a "typical course of therapy." The ones who are helped most significantly decide that it's a great thing and become psychiatrists." I thought it was consistent with my prior observations. John |

Subject: RE: BS: Sexual Fantasies and our past From: Bill D Date: 24 Sep 11 - 12:33 PM "Could these actually be female the top ten?" Sure! All pretty common...and I have known women who admitted to 6-7 of those. (This is 50 years worth of data, you understand....most of it 30+ years ago) You learn the most interesting things by being willing to listen while not acting like you expect demonstrations. ;>) 40 years ago, I knew casually (NOT intimately) a woman who told me she had sort of a combination of 10,6,& 1. She wanted a man to just sweep her off her feet and 'take her'....she then smiled and added, "Of course, not anyone who knows my fantasy in advance." I just smiled back. |
