They must have got the Folk Awards right this year. Hardly any discussion (i.e. off-slagging) on here at all.

Oh well, GUEST, if you insist, The Major Embarrassment Award was keenly contested this year.

Well, Keith, if you insist.

2011, Donovan was terrible!
2012, Don Maclane was worse!
2013 ........ ............

Just in case anybody is getting the impression I'm being totally negative, I think Billy Bragg's acceptance speech was spot on and the final song from Douggie & co was awesome.

Roy Harper, 15 minutes to accept his award and sing one song, talk about milking it.

For the ME award i have a 3 way tie and unfortunately cant separate them.

By far the best acceptance speech was the Young Folk Awards winners I thought it was brilliant.

Haven't watched or listened to the folk awards since the old king died! However, just watched it in its entirety on Iplayer to see what the fuss is all about.

Julie Fowlis as good as ever as a presenter, then again I watch BBC Alba fairly regularly.

I must admit The Award recipients weren't all that bad to be honest.

Although I could agree with previous comments about Roy Harper but then again I'm not overly familiar with his stuff.

Best acts of the night for me were Aly and Phil with "Mr Roloff's Farewell" and Dougie and guests' finale of "Caledonia".
