I recall seeing Rick playing some very bluesy stuff on an old Gibson mandocello. I wonder if anyone knows how he tuned it or if he ever recorded anything on it?

I know that Rick had a lot of friends on here. Doesn't anyone recall him playing that mandocello? He played it at Mariposa the year it was held in Cobourg, Ontario.

You may need to refresh this daily for awhile, I am sorry to say, because so many of us are gone or not coming here anymore or not as often. You could try PMs to some of his friends if you know them well enough.

~Susan

I knew Rick, but only for a short while. I wasn't aware he ever had a Gibson mandocello. I knew about mandolins and the Glen Reid mando-thingie. He wasn't one to stick with one particular tuning. He borrowed my fiddle for a while and kept re-tuning. I know he liked GDGD.
