I loved the way he said "if you want anything done - if you want to hire a jet to drop aid packages in - ask a rock tour manager, they know everyone and can organise anything" or words to that effect.

Thanks for posting that link, Thompson.

I've watched most of it. I have become a Pogue-oholic especially over the last year or so after I bought all their CD's and I listen to them a lot in the car or at work. The business management side of the music business is often overlooked. The interview with Frank Murray gave some insights into that side of it, and especially how crucial a good manager is to a band's success.

I'll check out the other links as well.

Helen

He was a sweet guy. Went to school with him. Stunning, beautiful blue eyes, and a gentle courtesy to everyone.

Frank Murray podcast (I admit I havent listened to it) https://anirishmanabroad.podbean.com/e/frank-murray-episode-162/

One of the obituaries; Frank Murray appeared to have been well-liked. In another obituary I read that he was very supportive of women and invested in a women's theatre group. http://irishpost.co.uk/obituary-frank-murray-pogues-manager-and-irish-music-promoter/

Before the eulogies recently for Frank Murray, it had escaped me that he had prompted The Pogues to come up with their own song for Christmas. For that alone he will be remembered.

(Chose 'folklore' as the subject sorter, since there isn't one for "the business".
"Unclassified/General Music" works. -Mod

The lovely Frank Murray, who died over the Christmas, talks about managing the Pogues and touring with the Chieftains and so on, in a Trinity Global Business Forum seminar in Dublin last year (2016).
