Subject: RE: Tech: Download from Spotify!! From: robomatic Date: 17 Jun 18 - 03:55 PM It takes very little time and horsepower to register to the site and I think it's a sign of (some) respect and (more) consistency if you have the least likelihood of posting more than thrice to a thread or more than once to two or more threads. "What is a 'bread head'"? Surely not a carbo loader? |
Subject: RE: Tech: Download from Spotify!! From: GUEST,paperback Date: 17 Jun 18 - 05:47 PM I'd PM U but since I'm not on board I'll explain, (which I hate doing), out of respect for you. The above was merely a trawl for G, (whom I also respect), and a creative, (to my mind), refresh. Peace Out |
Subject: RE: Tech: Download from Spotify!! From: GUEST,fillysun Date: 29 Jul 20 - 10:28 PM To download music from Spotify, you could use DRmare Spotify Downloader Mac. With this tool, you can freely get Spotify music and use them on any other devices as you like. |

Subject: RE: Tech: Download from Spotify!! From: Joe G Date: 30 Jul 20 - 05:15 AM Or you could always do the decent thing and pay for the music you plan to listen to a lot - especially at the moment when musicians have lost their main source of income as they are not touring. It's both illegal and immoral to steal from those who work to bring us such wonderful music |
Subject: RE: Tech: Download from Spotify!! From: Howard Jones Date: 30 Jul 20 - 06:09 AM Once you have Spotify you can listen to music as often as you want for free on any device with a connection, and artist gets paid. If you must download it you can usually purchase individual tracks for a few pence/cents (you don't have to buy the entire album). If you are such a mean-spirited tightwad that you begrudge the artist even these small amounts it might be best not to advertise the fact. |

Subject: RE: Tech: Download from Spotify!! From: GUEST,Nick Dow Date: 30 Jul 20 - 12:25 PM I think the problem may be that it is so horrendously expensive to make a CD using the normal methods, it is necessary to charge at least ten or more pounds even to get your money back. Hence if your downloader can get the music for less than that or nowt, there are those who will do it no matter what. One solution is to produce your CD's to professional quality yourself. By that I mean recording printing duplicating the lot. If you are able to do this you can lower your prices accordingly, and make it worthwhile for (some) potential downloaders to buy a CD at £5-00 on a gig. I'm not holding this up as a one size fits all solution, but it may be worth considering. The big hurdle is the printing however a mid priced laser printer for black and white printing (the notes to your songs), a good quality inkjet for the colour covers and printing on the CD (using compatible ink) and a cover design system like 'Audiolabel' and you're there. Works for me. |
Subject: RE: Tech: Download from Spotify!! From: punkfolkrocker Date: 30 Jul 20 - 12:59 PM I can't remember if I've read this zombie thread up to now.. But let's remind ourselves just how generously benevolent Spotify is. How high the payments are, with which it philanthropically rewards struggling artists... |
Subject: RE: Tech: Download from Spotify!! From: Joe G Date: 30 Jul 20 - 01:11 PM Noted for it's generosity across the world. However at least the artists get something - unlike when Bonzo downloads the music and plays it for free |
Subject: RE: Tech: Download from Spotify!! From: Howard Jones Date: 30 Jul 20 - 01:46 PM I've just looked at my Spotify account: $56.51. That's not much for 3 albums over 9 years, but it's better than nothing. Better-known artists will probably do considerably better than this, although you probably have to be a global megastar to see serious money. Total from all digital sales from all partners is a more respectable $657 and counting, although this includes purchased downloads as well as streaming. Importantly, these come from all over the world, from people who will never see us live and would never get to hear or buy our music. It's worth being online, but it's no way to make a living (fortunately I don't have to) |
Subject: RE: Tech: Download from Spotify!! From: punkfolkrocker Date: 30 Jul 20 - 01:47 PM Would adverts be forced on blokes like bonz.. Should revenue from those ads be shared with artists whose profile the ads appear on...??? Buggered if I know, I don't use spotify... |
Subject: RE: Tech: Download from Spotify!! From: Bonzo3legs Date: 30 Jul 20 - 04:15 PM Yes of course, adverts are sprinkled every few minutes, so we get surprises when listening! The download is poor quality. |

From: punkfolkrocker Date: 31 Jul 20 - 02:18 PM Mods do have a problem with dogmatic narrow minded sanctimonious miseries, blowing petty issues up out of all proportion... Bonz, for the sake of mudcat community harmony, We urge you to hand yourself in to the police asap... When you are allowed to use the prison phone, tell us how many years the judge gave you for possession of free streaming music with intent to listen offline when the internet is a bit too crap...... |
