It's raining anchovies in San Francisco.

One theory is that it is a sign of the End Times. Locusts next week.

Another theory is that there's a lot of anchovies in SF Bay right now. Pelicans no longer need to plunge-dive; they just sit on the surface of the water with their beaks open, waiting for fish to swim in. When they've eaten their fill, they fly over San Francisco to their nests to feed their babies. Flying with beaks full of fish, they inevitably drop some.
