Bo, Sounds like you're thinking of the Disney adaptation of the Rudyard Kipling story (poem? I forget). Try a collection of Kipling's works.

If it's any help, as a character in "The Jungle Book" (or possibly "The Second Jungle Book") by Kipling, Riki (or Ricky, or Rikki) has frequently been used as a name for an assistant leader in a Cub Scout Pack (previously Wolf Cubs). Much of the basis for Wolf Cubs was from The Jungle Book, and the main leader of any pack was always "Akela" (the she-wolf, mother of the pack). Obviously this is equivalent to the US usage of "Den Mother".
Other names used by assistant leaders were Baloo, Bagheera & Kaa.
