Spaw, I do believe you're right- e's just about got it down.

Does anyone else have the same odd feeling I have that he isn't going to be around very long? I only hope it's not by assassination. Martyring someone is totally nonproductive. Maybe he will resign?

On the other hand, maybe I've got that feeling only because I don't want to believe that he's the one we've got. President Bush?

Oh sure he'll be around. Look at Reagan. The man didn't have two brain cells to rub together, but he surrounded himself with a decent staff, and looked (and sounded) good on camera, and got himself elected to 2 terms.

Face it, we're stuck with Bush Lite for another 3 years, 10.5 months.

Thief,

"Actually, nobody in this thread accused MAV of being a bigot until AFTER he posted the thing about Byrd"

Au contraire mon frere. I never said it happened in this thread. I said catspaw did it.

"But I don't expect truth from MAV so this particular little lie is hardly disappointing"

If you want to be disappointed I could point you to the exact post, but I hardly think you care about the truth. It is as I said.

"Just more proof of the pudding"

Pretty shallow, mouse-boy, read Bushwhacked-Eight.

"Some uninvited guests are like pet stains on the carpet: you keep hoping they'll go away, but they never do"

There he goes again, lyin' on himself, I was invited and I even joined.

You kids are just too much fun.

I don't expect logic from him, either.

Bush Lite! I love it! Fat-free, no taste, no substance, all fizz up your nose...

Unlike Reagan, he doesn't look OR sound good.

They say a society gets what it deserves. We've gone from the 30-minute oration in the park to the 30-second soundbite, and from a hearty, dark brew to Bush Lite. What next?

Oh Ebbie,

"I've got that feeling only because I don't want to believe that he's the one we've got. President Bush?"

That's so sad, I think I'm going to cry.

Thief,

"Face it, we're stuck with Bush Lite for another 3 years, 10.5 months"

HA, ha ha ha ha ha!

The denial was good while it lasted wasn't it?

The American people are beginning to see serious contrast between the corrupt, sophmoric, outrageous, illegal and immoral behavior of the clinton adminstration and the integrity, honesty, respect and effectiveness of the new Bush Presidency.

They are giving him good marks, as high as 92% approval including your former "assumed" voters.

See you in 2004!

Who was in denial? I surely wasn't. As McGrath of Harlowe points out, the problem was not that we really thought the uncounted ballots would elect Gore. It's that Bush was afraid to let them be counted, and used every means in his power to prevent them from being counted until after he was sworn in. It's the deceitfulness and slimyhandedness of the whole thing that was distasteful. This is what Mav calls integrity and honesty, by the way, which should tell you something about how you should interpret all his other remarks. (1984-speak, anyone?)

And why the maniacal laughter if Bush is such a good thing?

As for approval ratings, well, yes, it hurts a little to have to say the American people are being vamboozled yet once again. But as PT Barnum pointed out, nobody ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American public. These are the same people who thought Reagan was a good president, remember. The same people who gave Clinton ridiculously high approval ratings during his impeachment, for what that's worth. Yeah, I'd be really proud of approval ratings if I were a Bush fan. Really proud.

This is a nation that prefers Budweiser to real beer, for crying out loud. That they should prefer Bush Lite to a real president? Hardly surprising.

Don't forget rapist clinton, I assume you trusted him as well.

Dear kidnapper of disease ridden lab animals,

"Who was in denial? I surely wasn't"
Yeah you were, still are.

"the problem was not that we really thought the uncounted ballots would elect Gore"

Oh no, of course not. That's why you bothered to pursue the recount. (more denial)

What's REALLY FUNNY is that no matter what crooked cheating method your guys used to "make every vote count" including convoluted overvote/undervote, dimpled chads etc......

BUSH STILL WON!!!

"It's that Bush was afraid to let them be counted"

Afraid? He wasn't afraid, HE WON!...Many Times!

If you had won would you demand a recount?

As for algor, the standard operating procedure is to recount in counties where you LOST! Don't give me crap about logic!

"It's the deceitfulness and slimyhandedness of the whole thing that was distasteful"

Yes from the choreographed busloads of "dumb votes" by the democRAT NAACP.....

and the blatant multi-ballot punch election fraud method perpetrated by the democRAT poll workers...

to the phoney disenfranchisment claims by the democRAT-fallen-unreverend-Jackson against the democRAT political machine in those acccused counties...

to the incredibly arrogant cheating-on national-tv-democRAT-vote-manufacturing recounters...

and the unbelievable and illegal behavior of the crooked democRAT Florida Supreme Court!

I'll have to agree with you that "it's the deceitfulness and slimyhandedness of the whole thing that was distasteful"

By the way, algor blames clinton for his losing the election, not Bush!

Why did algor not win in either Tennessee (algor's "home state")or Arkansas???.........Hmmmmmmmmmmm?

"Nobody invited MAV to this thread....."
Sure they did, read on...

"OK so we have this Bushwhacked thread going ...... And we have this thread on Cow tipping going into extra innings ........ But if we combine the two, we could have a thread we could be proud of!"....[Rich(bodhránai gan ciall)]

If one was to combine the two threads and take into consideration that I was a member of Bushwhacked-Eight, then by golly, I WAS invited, by Rich,(see first post)

"I don't expect logic from him, either"

Liberals are the ones that don't use logic.

Name a liberal position and logic usually does not apply. (depends on what "is" is)

MAV - Gotta love those Democrats & Republicans...or liberals and conservatives...or whatever you call 'em. The dispute rages on. It's like the Civil War never ended, which is what happens when you eternally divide a public between competing political parties who basically hate one another. It's an unwise way to run a society.

My dog refuses to vote for any of 'em. So do I. Not that I don't vote, mind you, I just usually vote for various people who are guaranteed to lose...seeing that the System doesn't support them with billions and billions of $ worth of politicial propaganda on TV and the other media. I vote for those people because they are not pawns of the System.

The Machine won in Florida. It would've won if Al Gore had been the winner too. The Machine always wins in corporate USA, and in its branch plant, Canada.

That's what I meant by elections being fixed, MAV. I was not speaking of fraud at the polling booths, but of manipulation of people's minds long before they get around to casting their votes. A sensible populace that had not had their brains addled by the media all their lives would probably not eat McDonalds hamburgers either...or go running around buying Gap clothing and smoking cigarettes. The heaviest advertising is aimed at teens, in an effort to program them for a life of folly which keeps the economy moving along. The modern consumer economy requires its public to be addicted, helpless, and stupid. A nation of budding Homer Simpsons in the making.

Commercial propaganda sells product. Bush and Gore were political product. The same thing happens in Canada, on a smaller scale, but in much the same fashion.

I know you think that sounds cynical. I am cynical about our social system (which is run for the sake of MONEY, not in the interest of human beings or other equally valuable forms of life). That doesn't mean I'm cynical about individual human beings. I consider us all to be sons and daughters of God, and capable of wondrous things. (George Bush and Al Gore included...if the System would let them...but it absolutely won't...it would kill them first. As long as they are good little boys and play the game, then okay...it's business as usual.)

And I do get humorous now and then, just to ease the tension of life some. No offense intended by that.

- LH

Cow tipping, anyone? Sigh.

However, there are many things about which we do not agree. Don's statements in this forum are his opinions, and will almost never reflect my own thoughts in any way, unless they have something to do with music.

Senator Byrd has long been held up as an Democrat icon in the Senate> Just thought you proud Democrats should see your hero as he really is.

"Senator Byrd filibustered the 1964 Civil Rights Act, and that he opposed the nominations of Thurgood Marshall and Clarence Thomas, but his bigotry didn't end there. Author Graham Smith, cited in Michele Malkin's column, recently discovered another letter Senator Byrd wrote after he supposedly quit the Klan, this time attacking desegregation of the armed forces.

"The ex-Klansman," Malkin writes, "vowed never to fight 'with a Negro by my side. Rather I should die a thousand times, and see Old Glory trampled in the dirt never to rise again, than to see this beloved land of ours become degraded by race mongrels, a throwback to the blackest specimen from the wilds.'"

Michelle Malkin sums up her column this way: "If this ex-Klansman were a conservative Republican, he would never hear the end of his sordid past. 'Ex-Klansman who opposed civil rights and black justices...' would appear in every reference to Senator Byrd. And even the 'ex-' would be in doubt...left-wing bloodhounds who sniff racism in every crevice of American life would be barking up a storm over Senator Byrd's latest fulminations

OK, so where does this leave the post-presidential tip situation? Or is someone planning on working the deer in the headlights version of it already? If so, say 'hi' to Geoff in Secret Service. I hear he gives great body cavity searches.

Despite all the idiotic venom (sheesh, why can't it stay in the "Bushwhacked" threads? Oh yeah... lowest common denominator), I think this is an element that could be successfully worked into the already overgenerous presidential retirement package...

Think about it... If Clinton had recieved a big enough tip from his first term, he might have been able to buy a humidor instead of accepting substitutes... Reagan might have been able to finance the Contras on his own and avoided forcing Bushie Sr. to pardon all the crowd...

The possibilities are boggling... Imagine the bad tips... "I'm sorry Mr. Nixon. We're repossessing your car, house and secret service. You now get a bachelor apartment in Pacoima, a Chevy Nova, and a possibly narcoleptic basset hound..."

Food for thought (esp. when they were and are still pointing so many fingers!)

What group includes these members:

29 accused of spousal abuse
7 accused of fraud
19 accused of writing bad checks
117 have directly or indirectly bankrupted at least 2 business
3 have done time for assualt
71 can't get a credit card due to bad credit
14 arrested on drug related charges
8 arrested for shoplifting
21 are defendants in lawsuits
84 for drunk driving in last year

The 557 members of U.S. Congress

Kat

And people say congress is out of touch with their constituents. Just goes to show. Glad the breakdown wasn't by party though.

A little more food for thought:

If we could shrink the earth's population to a village of precisely 100 people, with all the existing human ratios remaining the same, it would look something like the following:

There would be: 57 Asians 21 Europeans 14 from the Western Hemisphere, both north and south 8 Africans

52 would be female 48 would be male

70 would be non-white 30 would be white

70 would be non-Christian 30 would be Christian

89 would be heterosexual 11 would be homosexual

6 people would possess 59% of the entire world's wealth and all 6 would be from the United States. 80 would live in substandard housing 70 would be unable to read 50 would suffer from malnutrition 1 would be near death; 1 would be near birth 1 (yes, only 1) would have a college education 1 would own a computer

If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep...you are richer than 75% of this world.

If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish someplace ... you are among the top 8% of the world's wealthy.

Good one, flattop!

MAV - I feel that it is time I let you in on a deep, dark secret that may save your soul. I'm only doing this because I am that rare type of person who has compassion for both liberals and conservatives (despite being a radical-spiritual-leftist by nature who believes in both God and socialism....go figure, eh?)....

The fact is, MAV, the whole Mudcat Cafe, like other liberal-dominated talk forums on the Net, is a sort of elaborate Venus Fly-Trap meant to snare unwary conservatives and then waste their time and energy, so that liberals can take over the world.

You see, conservatives are basically men of action. They prefer actions to words, unless they're in church. Liberals, on the other hand, are very wordy people, and they are, of course, totally unscrupulous in their use of words. They can do any amount of talking and still keep walking.

By having forums full of ultraliberal opinions they lure the aforementioned unwary conservative away from what he should rightly be doing...transforming society into a conservative bastion of righteousness through forthright political action...and they lure him into endless, useless debating which eats up his time, saps his energy, and burns up his brain cells...all to no purpose whatsoever...except this: The advancement of worldwide liberal hegemony and the corruption of traditional moral systems everywhere.

Conservatives in Russia fell for this kind of devious routine, and it led to the breakup of the Warsaw Pact and the end of the Cold War! Conservative socialists everywhere have also fallen prey to this insidious liberal scheme, I regret to say, and that's to say nothing of capitalist American conservatives, who are real suckers for liberal talk forums. It's a sad story.

I advise you to get off this forum while you still have some measure of sanity left, and get back to kicking ass (to use an American expression) in the real world where a conservative can actually accomplish something...like getting rich.

As for me, I lost my sanity long ago, partially due to Mudcat, partially due to repeated airings of "Achy Breaky Heart", but you can still save yourself....

For God's sake, kick the addiction now before it's too late!!! Don't touch that mouse!

A liberal is someone who can argue both sides of the same side.

To which my cynical side makes me add.

And win both arguements. :-)

The truth is that the 8 or so who'd be from the US would be the only ones who could tell there were two parties.

You weren't supposed to tell him! That's the problem with liberals. Never can follow a few simple rules.

Now, of course, we're going to have to convene a meeting to appoint a task force to establish a team to develop criteria to select someone to establish a schedule for deciding when to call the meeting to dicuss what to do next. And that means making a decision. There goes the rest of the year.

The belief that all rights come from the creator (or nature if you're an atheist)is reflected in the Bill of Rights.

The Constitution limits the power given to the government BY THE PEOPLE!

Certain powers and duties are CLEARLY spelled out as federal, the rest are reserved to the states or to smaller political subdivisions (the people)

The rest of the world can believe as it wishes, but many of us take an oath to defend the Constitution against all enemies both foreign and domestic.

"MAV - I feel that it is time I let you in on a deep, dark secret that may save your soul. I'm only doing this because I am that rare type of person who has compassion for both liberals and conservatives (despite being a radical-spiritual-leftist by nature who believes in both God and socialism....go figure, eh?)..."

Thanks for your concern. The main problem with socialism is it steals from the poor.

"The fact is, MAV, the whole Mudcat Cafe, like other liberal-dominated talk forums on the Net, is a sort of elaborate Venus Fly-Trap meant to snare unwary conservatives and then waste their time and energy, so that liberals can take over the world."

I've noticed that, but they already have taken over the world.

"You see, conservatives are basically men of action. They prefer actions to words, unless they're in church"

That's why W's in ND, SD and other states undermining the power of their liberal senators by genning up support for his agenda directly from the people.

"Liberals, on the other hand, are very wordy people, and they are, of course, totally unscrupulous in their use of words. They can do any amount of talking and still keep walking"

That is very true, land of the "ethical free" and home of the demagogues.

"By having forums full of ultraliberal opinions they lure the aforementioned unwary conservative away from what he should rightly be doing...transforming society into a conservative bastion of righteousness through forthright political action...and they lure him into endless, useless debating which eats up his time, saps his energy, and burns up his brain cells...all to no purpose whatsoever..."

That's why I'm not a 24/7 poster, I have lots of different things to do.

"except this: The advancement of worldwide liberal hegemony and the corruption of traditional moral systems everywhere"

Yes, I just noticed that China is declassifying Homosexuality from a mental disorder to required activity, perhaps a little loosening in philosophy as another attempt at birth control

Of course, I also noticed they will be allowing private owenrship of farmland (HORRORS!!!)

"Conservatives in Russia fell for this kind of devious routine, and it led to the breakup of the Warsaw Pact and the end of the Cold War! Conservative socialists everywhere have also fallen prey to this insidious liberal scheme"

The "conservatives" in Russia are communists and aka the Russian Mafia.

"I regret to say, and that's to say nothing of capitalist American conservatives"

You could call them American business and Constitutionalists.

"who are real suckers for liberal talk forums"

Only a handful, and for self-entertainment purposes at that, most are doing what you suggested.

"I advise you to get off this forum while you still have some measure of sanity left, and get back to kicking ass (to use an American expression) in the real world where a conservative can actually accomplish something...like getting rich"

Thanks again for the advice, I'll take it into consideration.

"As for me, I lost my sanity long ago, partially due to Mudcat, partially due to repeated airings of "Achy Breaky Heart" "

That would do it.

"but you can still save yourself...."

Probably, but we all have our vices.....DON'T WE FOLKS?

"Don't touch that mouse!"

I wouldn't touch him with a ten foot pole. (maybe an 11 footer)

Good day aye!

MAV, I am glad to see that you have a good sense of humour too. I think it's even drier than mine.

I'm curious what exact powers the US Constitution does assign to the federal government. Could you lay them out for me?

As for socialism "stealing from the poor"? It can sometimes, and no doubt has in some places. It doesn't necessarily have to, however. Depends how it's applied. Exactly the same things can be said of capitalism. Depends how it's applied. Either socialism or capitalism can benefit the poor greatly, if applied properly. Socialism is a collective community effort, organized by a government (example: the police, the US Congress, the armed forces, etc.). Capitalism is an effort by a private commercial entity within the community. Either is entirely appropriate, depending on the situation. Neither is necessarily evil, but either can be used in a destructive manner....or a beneficial manner.

A society is like a human body. It needs both a right leg and a left leg in order to walk. It needs both a right hand and a left hand in order to do most other things. Better that the right and left should realize this and cooperate, rather than trying to eliminate each other. Which is why that body also needs a brain (leadership) that understands how to use both the right and the left members in an equal fashion.

Idealogues (of right or left) always want an "all or nothing" situation. That is precisely why they are dangerous. They are quite comparable to religious fanatics in fact. The Cold War was a great (and totally unnecessary) idealogical war...very much like a religious war. The East and West could just as well have decided to help each other after World War II ended, but they were idealogues on a holy crusade, and they obeyed the dictates of fear, not love. Instead of ending world poverty, trading, and sharing their many gifts, they built the 2 biggest military machines the world has ever seen, and one of them finally went bankrupt doing it. What a waste. To label either one of them all right or all wrong would be naive, but that is "all or nothing" thinking once again...and that's what idealogues do.

John,

Your original post said, '6 would be from the United States.' So my statement might be a a load of crap. If I wasn't a nice guy I could try an rationalize my mistake by saying:

1 in 6 - too young to vote(br> 1 in 6 - non-whites who are in prison or with a false or undeserved criminal record
2 in 6 - not enough faith in the system to vote
1 in 6 - not bright enough to understand the ballot
1 in 6 - voting Republican or Democrat while deluding themselves that it really matters

Another way to look at is that the ideologues (and a lot of others) demonstrate a basic distrust for their fellow human being. The compulsive need for a "system" that is then elevated to some level of absolute moral, ethical and/or political rightness would seem to imply that the individual can't accomplish much without the underlying "ism". That people actually require (as a need versus a convenience) leaders, mangers, owners or whatever to run their lives for them seems to me to be a fundamental problem.

Rather than promoting individual moral autonomy, ways are found to subvert it. Capitalism is as "guilty" of this as Socialism. Or most of the other "isms". Even the US Constitution mentions that rights and duties not granted to the Federal government are reserved to the States of the people as the last of the Bill of Rights (amendments 1-10) that were added because enough states had indicated they wouldn't approve the constitution without them.

I always thought it should have been put in as Article I, Section I so no one could ever question intent.

Some form of structure would seem to be needed.. Equally clearly, in the US, whether Democrat or Republican, liberal or conservative, the agenda is not to empower the individual, just to shift power to some other institution.

Regards

John

ATTENTION! ATTENTION!

THIS JUST IN FROM THE COMMUNIST NEWS NETWORK (CNN)!

*******************************************************

PRINCETON, N.J. (CNN) -- The popularity of former President Clinton has plunged in the wake of the pardons controversy to the lowest level ever, results of the latest Gallup Poll showed Friday, while his successor's approval ratings have soared just as dramatically.

In a poll conducted Monday through Wednesday of this week, only 39 percent of respondents said they have a favorable opinion of the former president, while 59 percent said they have an unfavorable opinion of him. The poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.

Clinton's previous low favorable rating was 42 percent, reached in early August 2000 and matched in a poll taken February 19-21, the Gallup Organization said. His previous high unfavorable rating was 55 percent in the February poll.

His favorable rating has fallen 18 percent since early December, while his unfavorable rating has risen by the same amount.

By contrast, the public's opinion of President Bush has climbed since Election Day. In this week's poll, 69 percent of respondents expressed a favorable opinion of Bush while only 28 percent were unfavorable. That compares with 53 percent favorable and 43 percent unfavorable in a poll taken Nov. 13-15, Gallup said.

Clinton's image has been tarnished in the public's eye by several controversies since election day, the most prominent being several controversial pardons issued during his last hours in office.

Congressional committees and a federal prosecutor are focusing on his pardon of financier Marc Rich. Listed as an international fugitive by the Justice Department, Rich had been indicted in 1983 on tax and fraud charges but left the country before he could stand trial. Investigators have questioned whether contributions made by Rich's ex-wife or fund-raising by a friend of hers may have influence the granting of the pardon.

Questions also have been raised about whether Clinton relatives improperly influenced other pardon decisions.

(Looks like ANSWERS have been raised)

It appears that BUSH is TIPPING the POLLS in HIS FAVOR!!!

From: GUEST,Monty Python

By Robert B. Reich Sunday, March 11, 2001

If I were a political consumer, I would -- with apologies to the late Monty Python parrot -- be going back to the store right about now and registering a complaint: "This political party -- the Democratic Party. It's dead."

"No, no, no no," he replies, "it's just resting."

But I know a dead party when I see one, and I'm looking at a dead party right now. Just consider the past eight years: lost the presidency, both houses of Congress, almost all its majorities in state legislatures, most governorships. Will lose additional House seats in the next redistricting. Most of the current justices of the Supreme Court appointed by Republicans, also most current federal judges. And the interminable Bill Clinton scandals. The Democratic Party is stone dead. Dead as a doornail.

Not at all, he says. After all, the Democrats are only one seat away from taking over the Senate. If Katherine Harris and the Supreme Court hadn't mucked it up, Al Gore would be in the White House right now. He won the popular vote by a half-million. Democrats and Greens together won more than 3 million more votes than the Republicans. And the Dems raised as much soft money as the Republicans for the first time in history. Forget the Clinton unpleasantness. The public will forget it. It always does. The party's not dead, "just resting."

Maybe, or perhaps it's stunned, lying there inert with less than two years to go until the midterms. Simply can't get over not having Bill Clinton in the White House.

But just you wait, say the party's salesmen: Someone will emerge to bring it back to life.

Look, the only reason the Democratic Party is sitting upright is that it's been nailed there, like the Python parrot. Who speaks for the Democrats? Clinton is utterly disgraced. Gore ran a lousy campaign. Terry McAuliffe heads the Democratic National Committee only because he raised a ton of money for Clinton.

And don't tell me the Democratic Leadership Council, with all that talk about being from the vital center -- why, even Hillary joined up -- is going to revive this bird. The DLC stands for nothing, nada, zero, except it's anti-union. No grass roots. No troops. No one out in America cares about the DLC. The DLC says it's centrist, but centrism is wherever the polls say most Americans are. And most Americans drift wherever there's a lot of hullabaloo. Centrism is unprincipled. Centrism doesn't lead. It follows. Centrism is Dick Morris. Centrism is nowhere.

If the Democratic Party's alive, why doesn't it insist that the budget surplus be spent on health care for the 44 million Americans without it? And child care for the millions who lack it? And good schools for all kids? Why doesn't the party say it's plain absurd to spend $300 billion on the military when the Cold War is over, and tens of billions more on a missile-defense shield that won't work? Why isn't it outraged that most of the benefits of President Bush's tax cut will go to people at the top? Why does it play dead on the environment? Why? Because it's not playing dead. It is dead!

The Dems aren't even fighting for campaign finance reform. They got so much soft money last time that they've decided to hold on.

This party is no more. It has ceased to be. It's expired and gone to meet its maker. This is an ex-party!

My position on the Civil Rights Struggle:

Q. What is your explanation of why there have been so many National Police Agents [F.B.I.?] involved in the case of the "missing civil rights workers"?

MAV. First, I must correct you on your terms. Schwerner, Chaney and Goodman were not civil rights workers. They were Communist Revolutionaries, actively working to undermine and destroy Christian Civilization. The blatant and outlandish National Police activity surrounding their case merely points up the political overtones of the entire affair....

Q. By "political overtones" do you mean that the case has a bearing on the forthcoming elections?

MAV. It is doubtful that the case itself will be made an issue in the election. However, the incumbent in the White House [Lyndon B. Johnson] is a communist sympathizer, as proven by his numerous acts of treason, and his sole chance of victory in the November election will depend upon his being able to hold his communist-liberal bloc together by continuing to support and protect all Domestic Communists ....

Q. Isn't it unlikely that the Communists would do that [kill the three civil rights workers themselves] in this case? Schwerner was a valuable man?

MAV. Not at all. The Communists never hesitate to murder one of their own if it will benefit the party. Communism is pure, refined, scientific Cannibalism in action. A case in point is the murdered Kennedy. Certainly, no President could have been a more willing tool to the Communists than was the late and unlamented "Red Jack." He cooperated with them at every turn. Yet... he was callously given up for execution by those whom he had served so well ....

Q. Do the White Knights of the KU KLUX KLAN advocate or engage in unlawful violence?

MAV. We are absolutely opposed to street riots and public demonstrations of all kinds. Our work is largely educational in nature .... All of our work is carried on in a dignified and reverent manner....

Ebbie,

Sorry I cannot remember which 'Catter gave me this (maybe you, Spaw? sorry...), but my dad just hooted when he heard the term "Resident Bush; he laughed even harder when I changed it to "Resident Shrub." He has never lloked or sounded like anything but a blank screen/empty page and I cannot fathom such a non-entity being called President.

kat, I also heard Resident-select Bush. I wouldn't want to be in his shoes, for sure. On the other hand, with his rattling head, he probably does believe he has a mandate from the people!

My favorite so far is Bush Lite. (Although I personally think Bush Sr was scarily heavy- not necessarily in the cranial cavity department, but in terms of where he came from and what he did along the way.)

I suspect we're all sick of the subject but what do you think of the new conclusions drawn by West Palm Beach? About the only good thing to come out of this whole distasteful mess is that it may keep us from ever letting it happen again.

Ebbie
