Do you know if Tom Paxton will be performing any concerts in the New England area of the U.S. this summer?

We'll be in North Conway, NH from July 15-August 15. Anything within a 3-4 hour drive from there is feasible for us.

Thanks.

Angela Howard Sydney, Australia

According to Dirty Linen's website, Paxton will be at the Champlain Valley Folk Festival, August 4-5 in Burlington, VT. Don't know if that fits into your driving-time scenario -- it very well might -- but even if it's a bit longer it would be a very beautiful drive through the White Mountains.

I'm looking forward to seeing him in Bethesda MD on June 9, sponsored by FSGW. He still puts on a great show!

Cheers, Nancy

Angela, there have been some great threads about the Lake Champlain festival and if no one else pulls up a lionk for you, I will later on, so please bookmark this thread so you can find it again easily, OK? Also other ideas may keep coming in.

Here's a link Tom Paxton's posted schedule at Musi-Cal, where other bookings may turn up in the time period you mentioned, and where you can also look up others you might like to see while here:

MUSI-CAL

If you join Mudcat you get a personal messaging page to swap messages with other Mudcatters and this would mean that people can invite you to hook up with them while you are over here or otherwise let you know about possible folk activities.

Hope you have a GREAT time visiting!

Looking forward to seeing you around the 'Cat,

~Susan

Angela, considering the distance from Australia, the distance from North Conway to Burlington VT is minimal- maybe 2 hours at the most. Go, and have a great time. And join the Mudcat, and send me a personal message just before you go, since I live about 1 1/2 hours from North Conway and would love to meet you!

Thank you for the information. It looks like our road will lead to Burlington for the folk festival.

We've met Tom Paxton a couple of times in Australia and now we'll get to see him in his own country. From what I can discern, it looks like it will be a very nice folk festival.

Thanks again.

Angela, it is highly likely that some Mudcatter will make a plan to meet up at the festival, and there has been talk of a gathering after it as well, still very tentative. If you would like to be kept informed about that, I'd be pleased to let you know via e-mail.
