Subject: Help from Trekkers From: GUEST,McKnees Date: 31 Jul 01 - 07:01 PM I would like to have some items for auction at the next Scottish Star Trek Convention which is not until July 2002. I thought there might be mudcaters who had connections to any actors or actresses who appeared in any Star Trek. I can either send photos or other things which could be autographed or since it is for charity perhaps the person might have a spare photo they could send me. Either way any help would be gratefully accepted. I have never attempted anything like this before and any guidence would be appreciated. |

Subject: RE: BS: Help from Trekkers From: GUEST,Trek'nfolk Date: 31 Jul 01 - 09:33 PM Sounds brilliant. I know we've got a few Trekkers around here but I don't think matt R's been around for a few months. A friend of mine played "the singing Klingon" (in real life he's songwriter James lee Stanley) and he might have a bit of memorabilia for you, but where does it go? Are you a member of Mudcat? Seem to remember your handle from a while ago, before I started moving residences. Trek'nfolk |
Subject: RE: BS: Help from Trekkers From: Justa Picker Date: 31 Jul 01 - 10:06 PM A search on /Google revealed a number of companies which sell Star Trek merchandise. I know there is a real good one in Vancouver, B.C., Canada but the name escapes me. In any event you might want to have a look here and follow the links. |
Subject: RE: BS: Help from Trekkers From: GUEST,Quincy Date: 31 Jul 01 - 10:29 PM We are everywhere (just not always in costume) Unlike Elvis impersonators we never grow old and fat, we just make bigger costumes! Are you in America? Mr. Data, A.K.A. Quincy |
Subject: RE: BS: Help from Trekkers From: GUEST Date: 01 Aug 01 - 12:36 AM Thanks for the reponse. I am in Scotland. No I am just visiting the Mudcat but my sister Duckboots and Rick her husband live in Canada and I can send thing via them. I wonder if anyone knows how I contact the agents for the actors so that I could write to them to ask for photos or send things to be signed. It does not have to be exclusively Star Trek, most things Sci-Fi, Buffy, Stargate, 7 Days, Angel, Final Conflict etc. You see I could buy things here and send them to be signed with a covering letter explaining that it is a Fan run Convention in aid of charity,if I knew how. Thanks again. |

Subject: RE: BS: Help from Trekkers From: Liz the Squeak Date: 01 Aug 01 - 01:48 AM Have you tried enquiring at the Dr Who shop, East Ham, London? The lady who owns it used to work for the BBC and goes to (and organises) conventions all over the world..... They might be able to help with advice - warning - don't buy any autographs there as they are terribly expensive..... I steer away from the collectible stuff, I'm in enough trouble with my bank manager as it is!!! LTS |
Subject: RE: BS: Help from Trekkers From: Liz the Squeak Date: 01 Aug 01 - 01:49 AM Sorry, Who Shop Interantional. Number can be had from Directory Enquiries.... LTS |
Subject: RE: BS: Help from Trekkers From: JohnB Date: 01 Aug 01 - 08:50 AM There is a large Star Trek convention every year in Toronto, it is in July so you just missed it. Come over and see your relatives next year. Live Long and Prosper, JohnB |
Subject: RE: BS: Help from Trekkers From: SharonA Date: 01 Aug 01 - 09:28 AM Perhaps the network in the US that televises the various Star Trek spinoff series can help. The network is UPN (Universal-Paramount) but it may take some work to find the proper people too contact there. |
Subject: RE: BS: Help from Trekkers From: Rick Fielding Date: 01 Aug 01 - 10:18 AM Hi there Mcknees. Just saw this. One of my friends played a "victim" (you know the guy in the WRONG colour uniform who gets beamed down to an unknown planet with Shatner, Kelly, and Nimoy). Haven't seen him in years, so maybe he eventually shared the fate of that unknown crewman. Good luck in your quest. Rick (and Duckboots) |
Subject: RE: BS: Help from Trekkers From: Mrrzy Date: 01 Aug 01 - 10:27 AM No stuff I'd be willing to part with! I have an Admiral's uniform shirt, a little one of those snowball things except that it does stars and the thing in it is the Enterprise, an Enterprise lamp, and a Mugatu, but I'm keeping them all... even for charity. I just like the idea of speaking Klingon with a burr! |
Subject: RE: BS: Help from Trekkers From: GUEST Date: 01 Aug 01 - 01:52 PM Thanks for your help I'll try UPN and see where I go from there. The singing Klingon sounds great. Just as long as he does put out an ablum call Ol' yellow eyes. I'll let you know how I get on. Thanks. |
Subject: RE: BS: Help from Trekkers From: Mrrzy Date: 02 Aug 01 - 09:39 AM What ever happened to MattR? And where in Vancouver BC? Might have to add that to my list of where to go while I'm there! |
Subject: RE: BS: Help from Trekkers From: Mrrzy Date: 02 Aug 01 - 09:53 AM I've been searching in the meanwhile, and cannot locate the one you've mentioned in Vancouver... any help appreciated... pardon the temporary hijacking, let's get back to getting things to this charity ball! |
Subject: RE: BS: Help from Trekkers From: Justa Picker Date: 02 Aug 01 - 10:22 AM Sorry Mrrzy, can't locate the one in BC at the moment, but here's a good one based in Florida. The Intergalactic Trading Company |
