Subject: RE: Lyr/Chords Req: Dave Van Ronk's 'Yas, Yas, Ya From: simon-pierre Date: 05 Nov 01 - 08:08 PM Missed that one... Well, I just listen to my tape, and the guitar part is perfect DVR: I could work on this fancy fingerpicking all my life time, and of course never get it. It's that trick on the bass notes I can't figure out. BUT, here's the chords, with capo on the first fret:
(A)Mama bought a rooster, (F#m) she thought it was a duck.
The turn around on the last line goes like this (single notes, add half tone with the capo, and alternate bass A/E): A, C#, D, D#,E, D, C#, A. SP |

THE DUCK YAS-YAS-YAS
Mama bought a rooster, she thought it was a duck.
Babe, oh, babe, have you ever been to Spain?
I'm goin' down Market Street,
Me and my gal walkin' down the street.
You catch the train you call Forty-Nine,
You shake your shoulders, you shake 'em fast.

Dorsey, wrote several classic gospel songs, notably "Take My Hand, Precious Lord" and "Peace in the Valley". Not to be confused with the white trombonist-bandleader Tommy Dorsey (1905-56).] |

'Twas the night before Christmas; all through the house, |
