Looking through a friends songbook last night .....

In the chorus of 'I wish I was back in Liverpool'

appeared 'There ain't no trees, no centipedes ...'

well,I THOUGHT it was 'scented breeze', but I prefer

centipedes.

I must admit (while blushing) that i thought it was centipedes for years. It is a better line.

I mentioned it in my 'Skipper Jan Rebek' thread

Last weekend "Who's the king of the fighting Dutch?" became "Who's the king of the fighting ducks!!!"

Whats the only reference to the ancient Egyptions in folk songs of the British Isles? Twa Corbies: "with his hawk and his hound and his lady Pharaoh". Sorry
