well i bid on a haruo 12 string on ebasy and went to bed, i won! it came todayand i have to say it is special. it was under fout hundred bucks with shipping and plays better and sounds better than thre guild i had years ago. thanks to this list i got one. i had never heard of haruo before, so it was a usefull education.

i tuned it a tone below standard to start with but it certainly shows no trouble. i have a 12 string capo from my old guild and i used on my yamaha to get to pitch.

i am really impressed with the sound, playability all the wayn up the neck and the workmanship. good action is particularly nice as i finger pick the twevle most of the time--it really is the way to go-- but tough action up the neck is the bane if 12 string finger pickers.

this rivals the ted thompson 12 i played in toronto at twelveth frett, which i thought was the best 12 i had played in years, so thanaks for thew heads up. i great guitar i can afford

It just occurred to me that I haven't freed up my guitars in a while. Maybe I should look into that.

After reading all the positive reviews, I bought a t haruo 80 that was listed on ebay for $399. I normally would never buy a guitar without first playing it(I'm pretty picky), but after reading so many great things, I just had to get it. Am I brainwashed? lol

I hope I did the right thing..

I bought my T. Haruo Guitar in 1978 in San Francisco for about $400. I never did learn to play very well, but have kept the guitar all these years and it is still in great shape.

I want to inform all of the T.Haruo fans out there, that Mr. Haruo Terada passed away in Japan in June, 2011. Terada continues producing with his son Shogo at the helm.

I am currently working on a bio of Terada, both Haruo and his brother Masao.

Sad to hear of the death of a genius. I wish I could get the old guitar out to play something in his memory but a year of pounding on the keyboard in pursuit of a master degree has left me with carpal tunnel and poor control of some of the fingers on both hands.

Has anyone played a T-10 6 string model? I found one I'm thinking of buying. On IMDB there's a short movie about T. Haruo. Has anyone watched it or know where to get it? Okay everyone. I have a 12 string T. Haruo T-100 acoustic guitar. Gorgeous, looks like this top of the line guitar was constructed with Makassar back & sides, has the upside down "V" shape inlay on the back, beautiful vine up the neck and Tree of Life on fret plate.

Interested in selling - recently widowed. Want to give it a good home!

Is there any record of Haruo producing nylon string guitars?
I believe I've located one. The label is torn but it looks like the last two letters are "UO".
The model is an "80-N"
