Subject: Obit: Jake Thackray - RIP From: Fiolar Date: 27 Dec 02 - 08:18 AM The death has been announced of singer/songwriter Jake Thackray age 63. Born in Yorkshire, he spent some years as a teacher and began his career singing and playing the guitar in folk clubs. His first album was "Last Will and Testament" which contained such tracks as "Family Tree" and "Jumble Sale." He had nearly one thousand appearances on TV. He is survived by his wife and three sons. Farewell Jake - you are in the company of the greats. |
Subject: Obit: Jake Thackery From: Mr Red Date: 27 Dec 02 - 08:17 AM Just heard on the BBC that Jake has died. It hasn't fully sunk-in yet. I first saw him on the "Braden Beat" with quirky songs even bought the "Lah De Dah" single. He will be much missed. |
