Following the fantastic night we had last year at Milnsbridge Socialist Club, we have now arranged a date for this years fun and games which will be hold on SATURDAY 12 MARCH.
As always, all are welcome to come and join us in a night of music and song, bring your voice and your instrument(s) of choice (even Banjo's if you must ..... Hi Jim)
It would be very helpful if you could let us know if you are coming so we can cook enough food and let the club have an idea of numbers so they can arrange sufficient bar staff/deliveries to cater for the vast amount of alcohol likely to be consumed.
Last years event was probably the best so far and thanks are due to all who came and sang and played, far too numerous to be mentioned by name, and I'll likely as not forget to mention someone and get a bollocking !
For those who haven't been before Runswick Bay Rescue Boat is NOT sponsored by the RNLI and is reliant upon volutary fund raising events like this.
So that's SATURDAY 12 MARCH 2005 ....... see you all there !

Milsbridge is just outside Huddersfield, West Yorkshire and the club which is small and quite friendly (the Stewardess is a little Angel) is on Bankwell Road.

I did mention the 12th on the Christmas card I sent to Malc and the gang .......... seems he may not have mentioned it yet. Poster will be on it's way shortly, hope you and the rest of the lads and lassies can get over, it wouldn't be the same without you, although my hangover might not be as bad the following morning !

My liege since our last encounter I have been chained in the cellar doing the scivvying chores that wenchdom requires - ( and dealing with two oiks who call themselves my sons but seem to be sent home from school every other day! have also had puter problems preventing me from getting on mudcat)

I would sincerely hope my liege that I will be there to serve at your table once again - hope to be able to remember the Runswck Bay lifeboat song I wrote too - Ossenflags did you ever learn the Whitby one?

Jim you promised we would have some divorce parties and a famous mcspit roast before you got married again - well so much for loyalty to your friends!!

I thought you would have found a way of gourmet roasting them drizzled in olive oil and sprinkled with some of that fab cheese you get and the odd walnut or two - or have you so much money these days you can afford to eat and but proper food at proper shops!

Big Spiders should be pan fried in butter and serve knapped with a red wine sauce, smaller one's are best treated in a similiar way to white bait, tossed in seasoned flour and quickly dried fried in very hot oil. A light green salad provides a good side dish to both

I've had replies off a great many people now, and space might be at a premium, I'd love to accomodate everyone, however the club has a specific capacity and my house only has so much room, and "is this real whisky" can only be played by a finite number of people. Well the latter part is not strictly true, I can always find TWO bottles to play it with.
If you are going to come to the do however, it would be really helpful to know in advance, for catering and bar staff

Just a quickie, Mr Raggy, is it a session - one person starts a toon/song, others join in if they can/want to - or a sort of sing/playaround where we each take it in turns, then clap everyone else. I'm definitely up for the first, but alas I like playing too much to enjoy the second.
