Subject: RE: Runswick Bay Rescue Boat - Sat 12 March From: GUEST,Raggytash Date: 14 Mar 05 - 04:09 AM Thank you for those fine words Duncan, the conversation on Sunday morning decided the highlight of the night was your "computer song" please don't take this too hard your other contributions came in for praise as well. The "organisers" consist of Wombat and me, the bar staff are always superb on such occasions and the club, with whom we had a slight contratomp early this year about running the event have invited us back next year. The final total, for which I have a cheque sitting on my desk ready to send, was £320 so once again a huge thank you to all who came and sang and all those who made such generous financial contributions and/or donated to the list of raffle prises. Cheers to one and all Raggy |

Subject: RE: Runswick Bay Rescue Boat - Sat 12 March From: GUEST,Raggytash Date: 28 Feb 05 - 03:58 AM Hiya Bloke in the corner, it's a mixture of the two, if someone starts a song/tune that everyone knows we join in, if it's a self penned or quiet number we leave them to get on with it and acknowledge in the time honoured manner, we don't have "rules" as such, have you been in the front of the plough during folk week .........it's like that |
Subject: RE: Runswick Bay Rescue Boat - Sat 12 March From: GUEST Date: 27 Feb 05 - 02:37 PM Does not matter either way really its for charity and the beer will be flowing. |
Subject: RE: Runswick Bay Rescue Boat - Sat 12 March From: Bloke in the Corner Date: 27 Feb 05 - 09:32 AM Just a quickie, Mr Raggy, is it a session - one person starts a toon/song, others join in if they can/want to - or a sort of sing/playaround where we each take it in turns, then clap everyone else. I'm definitely up for the first, but alas I like playing too much to enjoy the second. Regards Lawrie |

Subject: RE: Runswick Bay Rescue Boat - Sat 12 March From: Raggytash Date: 16 Feb 05 - 07:10 PM I've had replies off a great many people now, and space might be at a premium, I'd love to accomodate everyone, however the club has a specific capacity and my house only has so much room, and "is this real whisky" can only be played by a finite number of people. Well the latter part is not strictly true, I can always find TWO bottles to play it with. If you are going to come to the do however, it would be really helpful to know in advance, for catering and bar staff Cheers Raggy |

Subject: RE: Runswick Bay Rescue Boat - Sat 12 March From: Raggytash Date: 07 Feb 05 - 02:16 PM Big Spiders should be pan fried in butter and serve knapped with a red wine sauce, smaller one's are best treated in a similiar way to white bait, tossed in seasoned flour and quickly dried fried in very hot oil. A light green salad provides a good side dish to both |
Subject: RE: Runswick Bay Rescue Boat - Sat 12 March From: Red and White Rabbit Date: 07 Feb 05 - 11:44 AM Hi Raggy - you mean you havent eaten the spiders yet? I thought you would have found a way of gourmet roasting them drizzled in olive oil and sprinkled with some of that fab cheese you get and the odd walnut or two - or have you so much money these days you can afford to eat and but proper food at proper shops! looking forward to it - your touch and the fundraiser . Say hi to wombat for me unless shes lurking and reading the thread but not putting on comments in which case Hi wombat - have you seen the hairy g---- of Cleckheaton lately? Mouthorgans always bring back that memory now! |
Subject: RE: Runswick Bay Rescue Boat - Sat 12 March From: Paco Rabanne Date: 07 Feb 05 - 11:07 AM Ta raggy, I misread your first post and thought the do was actually at Runswick bay. I will talk to the boss and see if we can come. |
Subject: RE: Runswick Bay Rescue Boat - Sat 12 March From: GUEST,Raggytash Date: 07 Feb 05 - 10:50 AM Ted That's very generous of you, however as the "do" is in Huddersfield your guest's might find it a tad too long to drive to your place for the night. If however you and Penny would like to come over and grab some floor space you are more than welcome ........ last one to reply gets to sleep in the cellar with the BIG spiders Raggy |
