Happy Birthday!

In New Bedford, Mass:

Paul Clayton

was born 3/3/1933
(d.3/30/1967, reportedly by a deliberate overdose of medication.)

He collected extensively in the Appalachians and was a fine sea song singer.

I only have some miscellaneous cuts on LPs plus a very, very nice
Sailing and Whaling Songs, Legacy CD, 199? (originally 1956)
(Always check at Camsco Records first)

Paul Clayton and Burl Ives were my first introductions to folk music. I still play his tape of Sailing and Whaling Songs on long drives.Sandy Paton can tell tales of Paul, I believe. Hope he does.
