Subject: RE: Jed Marum - Look here!! From: LukeKellylives (Chris) Date: 26 Jan 07 - 09:47 PM Ah, Jed, nice. I know this is late, but still. I live in Lake Charles, Louisiana (which I think you've been to on multiple occasions). I'll be playing at the Celtic Festival and Balladeer Festival in October and on Paddy's Day. Hope to see you at the festival this year. Don't be surprised when you see me, like most people are. Pretty young. XD |

Subject: RE: Jed Marum - Look here!! From: GUEST,SouthernCelt Date: 16 Jan 07 - 07:18 PM Hey, Jed. Did you get a case with the new guitar? The one I saw you bring your old one in to Fenian's recently looked pretty well-used. BTW, did you get my long off-board e-mail last week? Among other things I was writing about the lyrics you had asked about when we talked. SC |
Subject: RE: Jed Marum - Look here!! From: Jeri Date: 15 Jan 07 - 09:20 PM Don't try sleeping with it, Jed. I don't think Louisa will be jealous and she already knows you're nuts, but don't push it... And congratulations. Mr Bigstar! You need my address for your old guitar? |
Subject: RE: Jed Marum - Look here!! From: JedMarum Date: 15 Jan 07 - 08:10 PM New guitar arrived a hours ago ... I am just getting my head above water now. Been busy busy working it through its paces. What a beauty. I thik I'm already in love! |
Subject: RE: Jed Marum - Look here!! From: Fortunato Date: 30 Dec 06 - 04:38 AM You're looking good, Jed, my boy, bring your new guitar and come see us, the kids could use a good snow storm. congrats. chance |
Subject: RE: Jed Marum - Look here!! From: Sandy Mc Lean Date: 29 Dec 06 - 04:45 PM Congratulations Jed! They are fine guitars! A friend of mine has one hand built by Jean Larrivee himself, before he became famous. A beautiful work of art. Sandy |
Subject: RE: Jed Marum - Look here!! From: Jeri Date: 29 Dec 06 - 04:17 PM Can I have your old one? I'll pay shipping charges. Just kidding - I'm thinking seriously about a bazouki or octave mando, so don't worry about the old Larrivee. Just be glad Guinness didn't sponsor you, or you'd have to take a black guitar with 'Guinness' plastered on it, and you'd probably still have to pay for your drink. As you don't drink, the Larrivee was probably a good deal. Seriously, congratulations! You've got the talent, you've paid your dues and you do right by your music and your friends. I love hearing about good things happening to good people. |

Subject: RE: Jed Marum - Look here!! From: JedMarum Date: 23 Dec 06 - 02:11 PM New ax'll be here soon, I expect ... I'll probably start using it right away - It'll be my only guiatr when I fly - but when I drive, I'll use for standard tuning work and I'll use my J-10 for the other tunings (low standard, DADGAD and D Major). raccoon? stilts? Larrivee's consolidating models, rather then creating new ones. Martin's the one that makes the signature guitars ... |
Subject: RE: Jed Marum - Look here!! From: Uncle Phil Date: 22 Dec 06 - 11:11 PM Congratulations, very cool. So when do we get to hear the new axe? - Phil |
Subject: RE: Jed Marum - Look here!! From: SINSULL Date: 22 Dec 06 - 08:18 PM The least they could do and create and market a Jed Marum Larrivee. Well done, Jed. SINS |
Subject: RE: Jed Marum - Look here!! From: JedMarum Date: 22 Dec 06 - 04:13 PM Oops - I mean the L-09E ... didn;t care about the fancy inlays ... preferred the simpler look. |
Subject: RE: Jed Marum - Look here!! From: JedMarum Date: 22 Dec 06 - 04:12 PM Thanks y'll. I am honored to be listed among Larrivee's featured artists. I'm a long time Larrivee player. I am happy to be endorsed by them and play their beautiful guitars. I did have my choice, Seamus - and this is what I chose: L-10E I love this body type and the woods used. Great electronics too. I'm hanging onto my Jumbo too - and will probably add a baritone next year. I am convinced that if you had to stick your hand into a dark room and pick out a guitar - you'd ALWAYS do well with a room full of Larrivees. He just makes great guitars - and I have something good to say about every one of his models .... er, ah, especially now that I have an endorsement! ;-) Funny story about my first Larrivee - I had just restarted my performing career in 2000, and had a show at a club I hadn't played before. When I arrived, I told the manager who I was and he gave me a blank stare until he saw my guitar case - then he said "Oh, you're the guy with the Larrivee." He didn't know me, but he'd heard of my guitar! |

Subject: RE: Jed Marum - Look here!! From: Desert Dancer Date: 22 Dec 06 - 03:13 PM Art -- I assume it's a listing of artists whom the manufacturer hopes other buyers will want to emulate in their choice of guitars as they might in their artistry, that is, "famous folks" who play their guitars", as opposed to "just anyone" who happens to play their guitars. ~ Becky in Tucson |
Subject: RE: Jed Marum - Look here!! From: artbrooks Date: 22 Dec 06 - 12:52 PM Perhaps I am missing something...and it certainly wouldn't be the first time. I greatly appreciate Jed's talents as a singer and as a songwriter...I have most (all?) of his CDs and hope to hear him in person one day. However, the list on that web site is of people who own a particular brand of guitar, right? So...explain to me what I'm missing. |
