Bob Dylan turns 69 today. Indulge in some nostalgia in this clip of Dylan, Baez, PPM, and the Freedom Singers at the Newport Folk Festival in 1963.

It's been 35 years since my first Dylan concert and I'm sure there are people here who can claim 45 years or more. I know he hasn't always been wonderful through the years, but isn't it nice that he's still out there touring and recording? Happy Birthday Bob... and thank you.

David E.

First saw ol' Bob in Montreal in 1965. It was his first "electric" North American tour. He was backed up by The Hawks.

Happy Birthday Bob and many more to come.

That moment in 1963 was one of the most magical ever. I still get chills watching it. Happy Birthday, Bob! And "Hi" to Joanie!

First saw Bob in Edinburgh on the "Judas" tour. Then I remember thinking how old he was when he got to 31!

Happy Birthday, Bob, from "Edinburgh's only traditional Dylan singer".

Happy Birthday to one of my favorite singers.
He came to my area two years ago, about this time of year.
I was working so I couldn't go, but a buddy of mine did.

My best buddy from ten years old to first year uni (we were roomies for a year at uni... he got thrown out) shot himself a few years ago on Dylan's Bday. He was rather passionate about Dylan's music. Since Dylan is such an amazing writer, I kinda figure it was the voice which drove him to suicide.

Easy, easy... it was a joke.

Happy belated birthday to the creator of about half of my repertoire.

I like everything about him, including his unique delivery of his songs. When I sing a Dylan song, I'm not trying to imitate his sound ~ who would? ~ but I am certainly deeply influenced by his phrasing, and by the feeling he is able to convey.
