I am a Fairport Convention fanatic with an old acoustic guitar. Despite searching OLGA etc, I can't find chords for my favourite Fairport songs such as Matty/Mattie Groves. Can you help me? (basic info would be fine).

The words you seek and chords can be found in the 'Joan Baez Song Book' that continues to be a classic Hope this helps

That would help a lot if I had the songbook to which you refer, Alicat, but I don't, and I'm very surprised to disciver that the Database only has the words to a papody, that I can find...

Could someone please post the words and complete chords? I don't understand most of that page you set a link to, MMario, I'm sorry... There don't seem to be all the chords there that are needed. If anyone has the time and patience...

Wavestar/Jessica - on the page I posted, the lines marked "H" have the chords. They match up with the lyrics on lines marked "L". ignore the lines marked "M"

THIS PAGE will give you a gif of the tune, and links to ABC format and postscript, but previous link is the only one that shows the chords....

Hi- Don't (repeat, DON'T) limit your search to proper names; they have too many variants. Mattie Groves (Child #81) is represented in DigiTrad in two versions, plus a parody. Try a search for #81. or pick a phrase like [holy word to hear].
