Subject: RE: Lyrics From: GUEST,Genie Date: 06 Oct 01 - 09:54 PM I take it this is not the same song as the one titled "Memories Of You" (which I think is from about the same period). That one I can find easily. If it's not the same song, I'm afraid I can't help. Genie |
Subject: RE: Lyrics From: catspaw49 Date: 06 Oct 01 - 10:12 PM I'd suggest that it's best to not just say Lyrics and instead use the Lyr Req prefix and the title of the song in the thread title. Sinsull will probably be arounf to chastize me for telling you that, but the truth is that a lot of times threads makred "Lyrics" or "Looking for a song" just get ignored. Spaw |
Subject: RE: Lyrics - Memories of You, Dear - Doc Watson From: Jim Dixon Date: 13 Feb 02 - 10:36 PM "Memories of You Dear" was performed in a western swing style by Johnnie Lee Wills, and appears on the CD "Band's A-Rockin'," 1996. The CD consists of radio transcriptions dating between 1941 and 1951. Harley Huggins is credited as a guitarist backing Wills. It was also recorded by Mike Auldridge, a dobro player, on "Treasures Untold," (Sugar Hill, 1990). Doc Watson appears as guest vocalist on this cut. Click here. Doc Watson also recorded it on the LP, "Live & Pickin',"1979. I was unable to find the lyrics. |
Subject: Lyr Add: MEMORIES OF YOU DEAR From: GUEST,Gene Date: 14 Feb 02 - 02:41 AM I recently put a lot of my DOC WATSON LPs on CD This was one of them. Also have the Johnny Lee Wills version MEMORIES OF YOU DEAR Recorded by: DOC WATSON Memories of you, dear Fill my heart with pain And I know you'll never Be in my arms again You say that you found another You tell me you love him, too My poor old heart is breakin' Lord, I don't know what to do I tried so hard to please you But nothin' could be done For now you're with another And I'm left all alone I know that I can't forget you Although sometimes I may try Regretting the day that I met you I just sit alone and cry Wherever you may wander Wherever you may be I'll always love you darlin' And want you here with me Source.
