Subject: David Mallett's new CD From: kendall Date: 09 Jul 07 - 12:49 PM I posted this before but it disappeared, so here we go again. Dave has done it again. He just made a new CD in which he has narrated the works of Henry David Thoreau's stories of the Maine woods. It is a masterful piece of work. Many narrators irritate me, but Dave is just right on this. His background music is well chosen and very well done. I say Bravo! |

Subject: RE: David Mallett's new CD From: John Hardly Date: 09 Jul 07 - 01:52 PM or "Summer Of My Dreams" or "Like This" or "Phil Brown" or "My Old Man' or Mallett just came up in conversation the other day. Two friends and I were in a cabin deep in the northern Michigan woods -- three friends, two guitars. I played "Summer of my Dreams" with an instrumental version for the first time through. I was only a bar or two in and was gratified that one of the guys piped up, "AH! ...Dave Mallett! ...haven't heard that in forever!" Sounds like an interesting project. |
