Sure do! Woke up with a case of it this morning.

No vacuuming, no dusting, no yard work, no bill paying, no turnin' knobs of cook stoves. I might need a bottle of "Guilt Begone" later in the day, but I'm too douflous to worry about that right now.

Maybe I'll take a nap, if that doesn't seem too much like work.

In the unique lexicon of my family, doofus is always a noun. It is the word you use to call your sister or cousin a dumb ass while avoiding getting your mouth washed out with soap by your great aunt.

Douflous is used to mean lazy and no-count. My ne'er do well uncle was often described as a douflous doofus. (I may have inherited some of the same traits:?)

It is true that delayed onset of douflousisity can sometimes be a problem. The way I deal with it is to resist energetic urges to do chores for as long as possible. I understand those urges as the body's immune system response to the infection, and have learned through hard experience that I must wait long enough for the douflousisity bug to overwhelm the immune system.

Sometimes you have wait until the cocktail hour:>)

Methinks they be variations on a theme. However, since a vowel followed by two consonants (at least in American English) usually has a short vowel sound, I would consider 'dufflous' to be a mispelling (Unless, of course, dufflous actually means 'sans one's duff.'

We may never know.
