I have asked the people in our Italian office (based in Milan) and they do not know this song. They will look into this and let me know if they find anything.

I don't know the Italian, but here's how it appeared in Singing Together, 1977:

PEPPINETTA

The following book has musical notation for piano and one or two voices, with lyrics in Italian and English. The English is different from the words posted above.

Thank you for this wonderful memory from my early secondary school school days in the sixties. We sang "Peppinetta" from those purple printed sheets that had such a magic (possibly toxic) smell!

The world was such a different place then. My main concern was whether my hair "flicked up" successfully.

Those were the days. Thanks for the memory.
