Subject: RE: Help: Searching for a songbook From: lamarca Date: 28 Sep 99 - 10:07 PM Dear Norbert - I have had a lot of luck finding out of print songbooks using some of the wonderful used-book search services on the Web. I particularly like www.abebooks.com, but here is a list of a whole bunch of them. For most of them you can enter "Guthrie, Woodie" in the author field and see what you get! No obligation to buy, and you can compare prices being asked by all the used book dealers who list with that particular Web search service (careful - it gets expensive when you start ordering books from Australia; unless you live there, of course, and then N. American shipping gets outrageous...I'm speaking from personal experience here). |
Subject: RE: Help: Searching for a songbook From: Big Mick Date: 28 Sep 99 - 09:01 PM Norbert, I would suggest that first you do a search utilizing the vendors that contribute to the Mudcat. You can find them by clicking on the "Help support the Mudcat" graphic at the top of this page. If you don't have any luck there, then give Elderly Instruments a try. CLICK HERE for the songbooks they have of Woody's songs. I believe they do international shipments and accept credit cards. You will also find the lyrics to most of Woody's songs in the Digital Tradition database located at the top of this page. Just type in [Woody Guthrie] and I am sure you will find all you are looking for. Note that those are brackets and not Parens around the name. All the best, Big Mick |
