I couldn't find lyrics for Farndale Daffodils / aka The Winds of March, by Graeme Miles, on mudcat so, as I've just transcribed them from the singing of Martyn Wyndham-Read, I thought I'd share here. Graeme Miles' songs are, of course, perennially popular with folks and I believe his songbook is still available from the eponymous website. Martyn Wyndham-Read, as I'm sure you know, recorded a whole cd / album (whatever we're calling sets of songs these days) by Miles, which is presumably also still available to purchase. Obligatory dutiful plugs over now so onto the song. It's not Miles' most profound work but it's a pretty and singable tune matched with pretty and singable words which will no doubt appeal enough to enter people's repertoires.

Farndale Daffodils / aka The Winds of March, by Graeme Miles

The winds of March are blown away
The April skies are clear
The fields are growing green again
No more lay white and fair

So come my love and walk with me, over yonder hills
Then on Farndale we may view the golden daffodils
And then on Farndale we may view the golden daffodils

The sun is burning warm again
Gone the winter drear
And from the deep of their winter sleep
The beasts begin to appear

So come my love and walk with me, over yonder hills
Then on Farndale we may view the golden daffodils
And then on Farndale we may view the golden daffodils

When spring and summer are over
And for winter we are bound
The cold dark mists of October
Are creeping all around

My love and I will go again over yonder hills
And in our mind's eye again we'll view the golden daffodils
And in our mind's eye again we'll view the golden daffodils

The winds of March are blown away
The April skies are clear
The fields are growing green again
No more lay white and fair

So come my love and walk with me, over yonder hills
Then on Farndale we may view the golden daffodils
And then on Farndale we may view the golden daffodils
