My friend, Bob Conroy, called me yesterday to tell me about John "The Yank" Harringon, a 97-year old Irish-American accordion player brought up in Montana and the Beara Penninsula of Co. Cork.

His biography is well worth reading - a very interesting story, very well written. You can find it at

Does anyone remember Michael Kennedy, an older Irish-American accordion player who lived in Cincinnati in the 1970s. Malcolm Dalgliesh and Grey Larsen produced an LP for him. I met him when I was touring with The Flying Cloud. I recall we did a gig with him.

i think he should get a new accordion --- a 97 year old accordion should be in a museum!
