You'll notice that there are three categories listed under the lyrics for this song. One is @BWI. Knowing how many Washingtonians there are around here, my first guess was that it had something to do with Baltimore-Washington International Airport. I searched the database for @BWI, and found a number of calypso-style songs, mostly Belafonte hits.

So, is the meaning of @BWI obvious to anybody here, or did you have to do like I did and search a bit? Give up? Click here for the answer.

Joe, @BWI is certainly not obvious to me........all the @'s need to be a little easier to find. I never use them.

The carrier that took me to St Lucia 4 years ago(where this song is still sung- at least for tourists) was BWIA (British West Indies Airlines), otherwise known as Beewee or "But will it arrive".
