I recall Granny Clampett taught Elly Mae that according to their tradition, the right "feller" would come to her if she would repeat over & over, "Darlin' Darlin' my True Love, come a swoopin' like a dove!" Hasn't worked for me, though.

Bit of a long shot, this. Anyone know of a recitation (Irish) describing the visit of a matchmaker to a girl's father, armed with a bottle of whiskey? The girl is sitting on the stairs listening. Name (and possibly title) may be "Mary McGill" or similar.

Regards
