I would appreciate if anyone could tell me where I could get the sheet music of Dougie MacLean's "The Gael" as heard on his album "The Search" and in a modified form in the movie soundtrack of "Last of the Mohegans". I have searched the usual sources in my area to no avail. I would greatly appreciate any help.

I have a four part harmony for The Gael, but have never heard the original. I suspect that a single line Midi version would not do it justice. Am happy to fax it if you or someone in Mudcat gives me a phone number.

Is The Gael used in The Last of The Mohicans? I rarely go to a movie - I only recently broke a 10 year drought.

I was speaking to Dougie at the memorial concert for Gordon Duncan 2 weeks ago. He was saying that this piece of music is now being used in a TV advert promoting Nike in the USA. Should be worth a few spondulicks, methinks, and fair play to him.
I thought someone had provided a link to this in a previous discussion. have you looked there? - or it may be on "thesession.org".

go to the last of the mohecians web site the sheet is posted. Play it one string lower than its written on fiddle that's where it was played on sound track. Sheet unfortunately lacks the trills.

Google image search "the gael sheet music", first hit. (No gracenotes but if you're performing in public you'll know how to put them in).

And yes you can play the same score on the violin.
