Subject: RE: Lyr Req: parody on the story of Robin Hood From: Malcolm Douglas Date: 10 Apr 06 - 10:43 PM Can you remember anything at all about it? A phrase or two? A little bit of the story? There are hundreds of modern Robin Hood parodies. Many have been posted here already, and it would be a waste of space, time and effort if people were to post them all again just in case one might be what you are looking for. Help us to help you, by telling us what you already know. Don't make us guess in the dark. |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: parody on the story of Robin Hood From: GUEST Date: 11 Apr 06 - 08:40 PM Don't know if this is the one but I can't remember a lot of it. Many long years ago, Twas a fella named Robin Hood, He use to rob the rich, Most every chance he could. (A FEW VERSES I CAN'T REMEMBER) the refrain; He took it from the rich man, And he gave it to the poor man, Had a care for no man, Except some little chick whose name was Maryanne. ( and a last verse I cannot recall either.) If this sounds like the song your looking for, let me know and I'll ask my sister what she can remember. She sang it all the time when we were kids. Good luck. Rikki |

Subject: Lyr Add: ROBIN HOOD (Louis Prima) From: Jim Dixon Date: 28 Jul 15 - 08:12 PM ROBIN HOOD As recorded by Louis Prima, 1944. Many long years ago, a fellow named Robin Hood, He used to rob the rich, most ev'ry chance he could. Now you shouldn't get me wrong because he was no square. With his trusty bow and arrow he could part your hair. His partner was Little John; another was Allan Dale. A hundred and forty more, together they hit the trail. They would scamper through the forest to the Blue Boar Inn. Mr. Eden (?) told them where they should begin. He took from the rich man, And gave it to the poor man. Had a fear for no man, Only for his chick whose name was Mary Ann. And here is the switcheroo of Rob and his loyal crew: King Richard forgave them all, and here's what they had to do: They became his loyal rangers and were very good. So that ends our little tale of Robin Hood. |
