Subject: RE: Getaway 2005 (14-17 Oct ) From: KT Date: 15 Aug 05 - 10:20 PM Ahem, Mr. Offer......That is not allowed! You actually DO have 6 commitments. If I recall, (and I do) you said, "See you next year!" as we were leaving Ramblewood. I just bought my ticket and I hope you'll buy yours today too! You HAVE to come!! KT By the way, if you act fast, you can get your ticket for $428.00. (or half that!!) |
Subject: RE: Getaway 2005 (14-17 Oct ) From: Janie Date: 15 Aug 05 - 10:13 PM Well, if you have 5, you will have blow off 4 of them--and the one left standing has gotta be the GETAWAY!!! The numbers 4, 7 and 12 are sacred numbers--so you can't stop at 6 in a row--would be blasphemous, not mention unlucky. McClatchey can come to, ya know? Janie |
Subject: RE: Getaway 2005 (14-17 Oct ) From: beardedbruce Date: 15 Aug 05 - 10:04 PM Amos, I should be there with a banjo, but someone will have to show me how to play it. I am just bringing it in self-defense. |
Subject: RE: Getaway 2005 (14-17 Oct ) From: Amos Date: 15 Aug 05 - 09:49 PM Hell, tell McClatchey to change her plans!! Joe, I think we're gonna really needja at this one. Not only are all the wimminfolk ganging up on puir ul' Mick, but Bearded Bruce is coming and threatening to play banjo. So I dunno, man...it's too risky not to have our favorite Fed around just in case things get, how d'ya say, overheated? Yas know, this is no time to play Pontius Pilate, pal. If Sins has her way with Mick, you don't want it on your head!! LOL! Trust me. A |

Subject: RE: Getaway 2005 (14-17 Oct ) From: Joe Offer Date: 15 Aug 05 - 07:51 PM I just looked at the calendar and find that I have five commitments for that weekend, including a Debby McClatchy concert. I've been at the Getaway six years in a row, but it looks like I may have to skip it this year. Blame it on Debby McClatchy. She's already forced me to promise to wash dishes for her at San Francisco's Camp Harmony after Christmas. I sure will miss the good times at the Getaway, though. -Joe Offer- |

Subject: RE: Getaway 2005 (14-17 Oct ) From: Dani Date: 09 Aug 05 - 09:56 AM I think that's why Mick moved to NJ: He was sick of us giving him a hard time for riding in exhausted in the dark of night, hitching up his pony and snoring in his drum.... Now he'll be bright-eyed and bushy-tailed like the rest of us in the morning! Dani |
Subject: RE: Getaway 2005 (14-17 Oct ) From: KT Date: 09 Aug 05 - 02:39 AM Good on ya, Amos!! You will not be sorry! Bobert, you ARE going to be there longer, this time, right? Subject: RE: Getaway 2005 (14-17 Oct ) From: Amos Date: 08 Aug 05 - 11:10 PM Dang -- hard choices!!!! I mean the beautiful and gracious Dani, or the fiery blues player but pulchritude-challeneged Bobert, for a ride down to the Getaway...dang! I am downright conflicted!! I was gonna rent a big SUV and pick up strays and ruffle feathers rolling in!! LOL. Well if I hitch, can I get back to BWI by noon on Monday? Mebbe I'll just auction my butt off for the benefit of the Cat...won't be the first time. :-D A |

I am not making any definite plans on what to bring or how to get there until I am in Maine. I will probably be taking the train or flying down there. After the Getaway I will be in the Washington area for a few days. My nephew and his fiancee are there and we will visit them and go see the sights. |

Since different people were arranging it last time & no records were kept anyway, and no one would be silly enough to rely on my memory, you'll need to let us know later how much stuff you actually have managed to locate and unpack! |
Subject: RE: Getaway 2005 (14-17 Oct ) From: Gorgeous Gary Date: 09 Jul 05 - 02:34 PM My sympathies and condolences Charlie. Subject: RE: Getaway 2005 (14-17 Oct ) From: Charlie Baum Date: 08 Jul 05 - 07:31 PM Actually, my mother died on June 24th (not July)--which explains my absence from Old Songs. Rita Ferrara and I plan to get together on Sunday, July 10th, and engineer a new thread containing registration form linkages and other important information, which will be edited and kept to actual news and logistics. We're going to make it cross-listed to this thread, which is where the banter can remain, and we'll be editing the other thread to keep the banter here and not there. Given the html coding involved in cross-referencing the two threads, I want her editorial skills to make sure I've got everything right. --Charlie Baum |

Subject: RE: Getaway 2005 (14-17 Oct ) From: Ferrara Date: 08 Jul 05 - 03:52 PM Charlie Baum is planning to start a new edited thread for the Getaway when he posts the registration forms. There has been a sad delay due to Charlie's mom becoming very ill. She died on July 24 I'm sorry to say, that's why Charlie wasn't at Old Songs. I hesitated to post about it until I asked Charlie's permission. Once we have the permathread for registration info, etc, I think we might start a second permathread just for logistics: how many people need to have pillows & blankets/sleeping bags supplied by local people, who can provide what, who is arriving when at what airport, etc. On the other hand that may just be too much organizing ... we'll see. |
Subject: RE: Getaway 2005 (14-17 Oct ) From: jacqui.c Date: 08 Jul 05 - 01:39 PM We'll be bringing extra blankets as well as my goosedown quilt - lovely and warm! |

Subject: RE: Getaway 2005 (14-17 Oct ) From: SINSULL Date: 08 Jul 05 - 01:34 PM I will have an assortment of quilts, blankets, etc., maybe even a spare pillow or two. Some towels if they are needed too. hVAE TO GET SOME OF THOSE sPACE bAGS FOR PACKING. dAMN cAPSLCOCK! |
Subject: RE: Getaway 2005 (14-17 Oct ) From: GUEST,MMario Date: 08 Jul 05 - 01:27 PM LF - I'm sure we can match the luggage impaired up with sleeping bags - but this should probably wait until a later time. As I said, I'll be bringing a stock of spare blankets and whatever other bedding I can |
Subject: RE: Getaway 2005 (14-17 Oct ) From: Leadfingers Date: 08 Jul 05 - 01:21 PM Those of us crossing the pond for the getaway will have to be careful how much luggage we carry ! Subject: RE: Getaway 2005 (14-17 Oct ) From: CET Date: 08 Jul 05 - 01:07 PM Brett: I guess it's been about four years since we ran into each other (at Bat Goddess' party, wasn't it). In honour of your return to North America I will bring down some Canadian beer for your cooler. Do you like India Pale Ale? There's a new brewery a bit further up the Ottawa Valley from us! Edmund |
