Subject: RE: Getaway 2005 (14-17 Oct ) From: John MacKenzie Date: 08 Jul 05 - 08:54 AM Sounds good Mario, I would like to reserve a blankie or two to keep me warm at night. Giok |
Subject: RE: Getaway 2005 (14-17 Oct ) From: GUEST,MMario Date: 08 Jul 05 - 08:17 AM Stephen - believe me - there will be notice when the registration forms go up - As Rita mentioned earlier "they" (or someone) will then start another serious thread - and if no one else does I'll make sure the link to registration forms is in this thread as well as the new one. Brett - I'm gonna bring a bunch of spare blankies I figure if we prepare for an ICE AGE we will probably end up with balmy night temps - so break out the goosedown and eiderdown! |

Subject: RE: Getaway 2005 (14-17 Oct ) From: wysiwyg Date: 07 Jul 05 - 11:19 PM Electric blanket-- that'll wake up the snake in a hurry! :~) Don't burnhim! ~S~ |
Subject: RE: Getaway 2005 (14-17 Oct ) From: Bill D Date: 07 Jul 05 - 11:17 PM Brett...I think I might just have a spare **electric** blanket(single bed, but it will do the job)....and, of course, this might be the year we have tolerable night temps! Ok, I'll look for PMs about 'important supplies' as the time nears... CET...hasn't BEEN a year..*grin*...and the 2nd to last last bottle, a couple of weeks ago, was just fine! That stuff ain't Budweiser...it has a bit of a shelf life...but I don't intend to test it longer--it will be gone this week. |
Subject: RE: Getaway 2005 (14-17 Oct ) From: Big Mick Date: 07 Jul 05 - 09:27 PM Brett ..... the warmest room will still be well below the tolerance level for this woman. I am glad you are coming, as this means that Kendal and I will not be the only ones in the shithouse with the women. Wakana, bless her heart, will likely not speak to you for bringing her to the land of cold arses and crazed folksingers. It will be good to see you again, especially as you begin life as a celibate manwith a significant other ............ All the best, Mick |

Subject: RE: Getaway 2005 (14-17 Oct ) From: Naemanson Date: 07 Jul 05 - 08:06 PM Bill, I will take you up on that cooler. Can you stock it with something tasty? I will PM you with a list and reimburse you the expense. As for blankets that might be a good idea. We will have some kind of sleeping bags and sheet sets for sleeping in hostels but Wakana is sure to be cold as she is from a warm land and loves the tropics. Me? I have no plans to sleep. The best advice I ever got for working the Mystic Sea Music Festival was not to waste any of my time sleeping. It sond like this will be the same thing. Oh, and I claim dibs on the best and warmest cabin/room. This is for Wakana, you understand. My own comfort is of little consequence but SHE must be comfortable. For her this environment is going to be about as alien an environment as anyone can experience. She ought to be able to sleep comfortably. |
Subject: RE: Getaway 2005 (14-17 Oct ) From: Bill D Date: 07 Jul 05 - 10:23 AM oh good, Charmion! I had remembered that you & Edmund were not likely to make it this year.....(I still have ONE bottle of Maudité left from my win in the silent auction...YUM!) I have been rationing myself.. |
Subject: RE: Getaway 2005 (14-17 Oct ) From: Charmion Date: 07 Jul 05 - 09:46 AM Thanks to the dreaded Departmental Performance Report, I racked up a few hours of overtime -- which means more leave! Edmund and I are both coming, barring the usual list of cataclysms. Looking forward to discussing intoxicating beverages with Micca and the delectably named CatsPHiddle, and playing some diddly music with Richard Moore (mooman) again -- that dude ROCKS! |
Subject: RE: Getaway 2005 (14-17 Oct ) From: Fortunato Date: 07 Jul 05 - 08:36 AM Hey, Caspidddle, not to worry, I've got a good stout crate for him to sleep in, can't have him lurking about in the eaves like last time. |
Subject: RE: Getaway 2005 (14-17 Oct ) From: GUEST,catsphiddle@work Date: 06 Jul 05 - 04:21 AM Only 3 months and counting to go!!...I can't wait...Flights are booked, itinerary is sorted, surprises sorted and I must remember to take Micca out of the attic before we set off! I am really looking forward to meeting you all. |

Subject: RE: Getaway 2005 (14-17 Oct ) From: Bill D Date: 05 Jul 05 - 09:09 PM gee....I wonder if that's the same bridge *I* bought awhile back? anyway, it will be much fun watching all these meetings, plans, orchestrations and permutations develop. ...and Brett...I still have that cooler and/or blankets from the last time you were expected here...lemme know if any of them are needed. Lots of time yet... |
Subject: RE: Getaway 2005 (14-17 Oct ) From: Naemanson Date: 05 Jul 05 - 07:20 PM Sins! What makes you think I would give you a snake? What I have in mind would make a snake a much more preferable present. I think the Getaway would be the perfect place. Jacqui, I know the captain. Any pointers you've learned from dealing with him would be useless for Wakana. Whereas he is an old curmudgeon, I am sweet, kind, and gentle. Of course, I know that Kendall is too. He just doesn't want to show it. Besides, Wakana is doing just fine without any help from western women. Maybe she has some pointers for all of you! Japanese women know how to deal with their men. They are sweet and submissive. And if you believe that one I have this property in New York I want to sell. It's a bridge... |

It was a Grand Getaway for all. |
