Subject: RE: Hi I'm new here - I'm Catspaw 48 From: katlaughing Date: 26 Jul 00 - 01:37 AM There aren't, Melani. Some wanker is just having our one and only Spaw on a bit; a poor imitation...the mold was broken when our Spaw came about...never be another like him. |
Subject: RE: Hi I'm new here - I'm Catspaw 48 From: catspaw49 Date: 26 Jul 00 - 01:43 AM WAY too much inbreeding would be my guess......... Actually Melani, before today there was only one....me.....catspaw49. When I joined almost two years ago, I included the 49 on the end because at the time, it was the year of my birth and also my age. One of our regular members is totally disgusted with my postings, which can be obnoxious to a lot of folks, has decided to stick it to me. Unlike most of our members who are fine folks and have the courage to speak their piece under their own name, this particular person would prefer to hide their true identity. Ain't no big deal, just continue to enjoy yourself at the 'Cat. We're glad you're here. Spaw |
Subject: RE: Hi I'm new here - I'm Catspaw 48 From: sledge Date: 26 Jul 00 - 03:05 AM I'm for the original Spaw, cheap imitations just don't cut the mustard. |
Subject: RE: Hi I'm new here - I'm Catspaw 48 From: dwditty Date: 26 Jul 00 - 07:10 AM First off, notice in the first post to this thread that the "Subject" box referes to Catspaw 48. No imposter worth their salt would put a space between Catspaw and the number 48. Am I right? Secondly, the "From" box refers to CAPSPAW48. This kind of misspelling belongs in the Illiteracy thread. I suggest a few weeks at the Center to take a crash course in remedial personality transfer before this poster makes another attempt. |
Subject: RE: Hi I'm new here - I'm Catspaw 48 From: Sailor Dan Date: 26 Jul 00 - 08:22 AM Catspaw49 When I first came to the "cat", I read your threads and figured out you were just an obnoxious asshole who did nothing but cause trouble. You shot off your mouth cursed swore, called people to task for many things. You seemed to be an extremely disrupting influence to this entire mudcat scene. But as time went on and I got to know the writings of the Spaw, I found out you were extremely astute, sharp and wise beyond your written words. I also came to find out that your are Highly intelligent, totally caring and totally giving and speak many times with tongue in cheek. You are extremely knowledgeable about music, life and only Lord knows what else. You have a great outlook on life and on people. It now has gotten to the point where I purposely look for the Spaw tracks on these threads to learn things from you and to enjoy to the hilt your witticisms. I was going to write this in a PM to you last week but I think with this thread, I just had to put it into the open for all to see. Boy am I glad the cat has you. Sailor Dan. |

Subject: RE: Hi I'm new here - I'm Catspaw 48 From: Peter T. Date: 26 Jul 00 - 09:21 AM I am afraid, catspaw49, that, powerful as the Mudcat universe is, this reverse aging thing does not work. Subject: RE: Hi I'm new here - I'm Catspaw 48 From: bbelle Date: 26 Jul 00 - 12:00 PM I've always thought that, if someone is going to steal your identity, they should, at the very least, have the intelligence to spell it correctly and study the signature style. Of course, my opinion of people who do this is so low that I wonder why it should, even now, surprise me. catspaw49 ... you are one of a kind and I am privileged to know you. No imitator could do you the justice you deserve. To do so, would involve having a heart the size of Alaska. love ... moonchild |

Subject: RE: Hi I'm new here - I'm Catspaw 48 From: GUEST Date: 26 Jul 00 - 12:39 PM SDShad, You mean some folks actually got poems written for 'em? Golly, I didn't know that. Neither did I, I guess. Thank goodness there aren't any more Soddys 'round here. And for all our pals accross the pond, stop that sniggering. A "soddy" is an earthen house the pioneers built out on the great plains because there weren't any trees to cut up into lumber. The house was built out of turf, or sod. Soddy |

Spaw you're my favorite Mudcatter, and true Mudcat gem! I appreciate your humor, candor, and points-of-view, and like others, I look forward to your responses on the forum. It's disappointing to me that some idiot would care to take a shot at you - but then why would someone wanna shoot Jack Kennedy, John Lennon or Ron Reagan? Subject: RE: Hi I'm new here - I'm Catspaw 48 From: catspaw49 Date: 26 Jul 00 - 03:09 PM And I Jeri, on the other hand, have been known to cut the cheese upon occasion..........a lot of occasions actually. I noticed the same thing too Jeri. I'm sure they'll turn up again......always do. And Mort.......No, I didn't start this thing and yes, I am suitably embarassed. The 'Cat is a fine place, and I'm just happy to be a part of it. Sailor Dan, Jed, Moon, Jon, and all of the rest.......Thanks seems kinda' lame, but its the most sincere word I know. Thanks. Spaw |
Subject: RE: Hi I'm new here - I'm Catspaw 48 From: GUEST Date: 26 Jul 00 - 03:22 PM Jeri, Pat, The original post was lower case. I assume that changing the posters name by introducing capitalisation was an attempt to differentiate the true catspaw from the interloper. Joe? Pene? |

Subject: RE: Hi I'm new here - I'm Catspaw 48 From: wysiwyg Date: 26 Jul 00 - 04:03 PM OK, to clear up the Praisepoems thing. For awhile I was welcoming new members (when I could spot them or they introduced themselves as such) with little poems. These just began to come to me spontaneously one day, like a snapshot of however I saw that person, little couplets of doggerel. (Only once or twice did these pop up for existing members, and those went to PM's.) Of course at the time I was pretty seriously addicted to my screen! And had a computer at home. And boundless energy that turned out to be overworking, seriously stressed systems running on automatic. Well, I screwed myself right into the ground, I did! (Some of you were there.) Not just on Mudcat, either-- this was more of a long term work thing that just reared its pretty little head here. ZAP. Burnout. Now in recovery. Now an expert on the adrenal system! (See me for details!) So I have not written Praisepoems for awhile. I just was kidding that if we got a zillion new Catspaws, I could saturate the place with easily-crafted pieces of crap.... heh heh heh.... see I wouold write just one and then change the number each time.... I guess (*blush* I was doing that thing I still don't QUITE understand, that Joe calls trolling.... Sorry.... ~S~ |

Subject: RE: Hi I'm new here - I'm Catspaw 48 From: Helen Date: 26 Jul 00 - 08:10 PM Joe, maybe you should have changed capspaw48's name to crapspaw? Well, 'Spaw (the real one, not some cheap imitation) - I'll join the fanclub, you possum-tongued devil. I agree with all positives expressed above and laugh at any ill-intentioned negatives. Well-intentioned negatives, on the other hand, make me laugh as well, e.g. Sailor Dan's description is very apt - "You shot off your mouth cursed swore, called people to task for many things". Yes, you do all of that but very much in a positive and funny way. Definitely wouldn't be the same around here without you, as we very nearly found out and I'm still cleaning out the salt deposits from crying all over my keyboard. Of course, a few other 'Catters have contributed to those salt deposits in the last few years, too. Helen Helen |
