Looks like Prince has swapped performing for preaching, reports Ananova.com.

A Minneapolis couple said the singer, who is now a committed Jehovah's Witness, stopped at their home recently and tried to convert them from their Jewish faith.

They said that when they told the Purple Rain singer that they weren't interested, he asked: "Can I just finish?"

The couple told the Minneapolis Star Tribune that Prince, 45, then left in a car, accompanied by a woman they believed to be his wife, Manuela Testolini.

Prince's lawyer, Londell Macmillan, said the star was "very committed" to the Jehovah's Witnesses.

Prince, who once demanded to be known by a symbol rather than by his name, reportedly banned 50 explicit songs from his playlist after his religious awakening in 2001

Tomorrow I fully expect to hear that Keith Richards has converted to Scientology.

Well, BillD suggests this thread is BS. I'm sure he's right. But if the thread was devoted to Micahel Jackson jokes,it would be different, as folklore is a legitimate non BS topic. And this subject has certainly generated a string of jokes in England(particularly in schools). I iamagine this is also the case in America, could anyone confirm? I do not, incidentally, intend to post any here. Funny as they are, I feel they are best left in the oral tradition.

Now I don't know about Prince, but Michael Jackson should have converted to Jehovah's Witnesses a long time ago. Apparently they have a structure that provides airtight security for child molesters who understand how it works. If a JW is accused of sexual abuse by another JW, the complainant is advised to go to the church elders, NOT the police. The elders listen to the allegations, then call upon the accused and ask him (almost always a him) if they are true. If he denies everything, that's the end of it. The elders "leave it in Jehovah's hands".

There's a man in New Hampshire who has been convicted of sexually abusing his daughters over a period of several years--practically his entire temple membership testified, at his trial, what a great guy he is, while they ostracized his ex-wife and children for laying charges.

They sure take care of their own.

The Quran does not specifically fix punishement for child molestation. Adultery deserves 100 lashes for each person in the 24th Sura.

The Quran says a murderer is condemned to Hell and indirectly says that the murderer should be put to death (it says this in passing when it excuses capital punishment as the only kind of murder allowed.

I know in several Muslim countries that child molestation is punishable by death.


Weren't the Jackson's Jehovah Witnesses years ago?

it is kinda wiered to believe that Michael jackson becoming muslim but everything possible,
regarding islamic punishment for what he did..
islam rules says when someone become a muslim, it is like he is born again, and born again in islamic expersion means the person that has no sins at all just like a baby when he/she is born...
but this doesn't insure for him to get away of punishement from god with something related to sexual abuse... unless he really regret what he did and become a real good person....
