Public approval for the latest war is low so a song is sorely needed for morale and recruiting. That was also true for the Vietnam War in the 1960s, until a morale and recruiting song by Country Joe MacDonald and the Fish made the large young audiences cheer and sing-along (Woodstock 1969). In memory of Country Joe who passed away last weekend. His song still serves today's issues with only modest tweaking and one new verse to for the newly named Department of (Holy) War.

Adapting “I Feel Like I’m Fixin’ To Die Rag” (aka Fish Cheer)

Oh, come on all of you big strong men. Uncle Sam needs your help again.
He's got himself in another jam. This time it’s in IRAN.
So put down your books and pick up a gun. We're gonna have a whole lotta fun.
And it's one, two, three - what are we fighting for?
Don't ask me, I don't give a damn. This time it’s in IRAN.
And it's five, six, seven - open up the pearly gates
Well there ain't no time to wonder why. Whoopee! we're all gonna die.

Well, come on generals, let's move fast. Your big chance has come at last.
Send the boys out to shoot rag heads. The only good Muslim is one who's dead.
You know that peace can only be won when we blow 'em all to kingdom come.
And it's one, two, three - what are we fighting for?
Don't ask me, I don't give a damn. This time it’s in IRAN.
And it's five, six, seven - open up the pearly gates
Well there ain't no time to wonder why. Whoopee! we're all gonna die.

Well, come on mothers throughout the land. Pack your boys off to see IRAN.
Come on fathers, don't hesitate. Send 'em off before it's too late.
Be the first one on your block to have your boy come home in a box.
And it's one, two, three - What are we fighting for?
Don't ask me, I don't give a damn, This time it’s in IRAN.
And it's five, six, seven - open up the pearly gates
Well there ain't no time to wonder why. Whoopee! we're all gonna die.

Well, come on Wall Street, don't move slow. This next war is green light go.
There's lots more money to be made selling the Army their tools of the trade.
To Hell with Muslims. They’re no fun. Let’s send 'em all to kingdom come.
And it's one, two, three - what are we fighting for?
Don't ask me, I don't give a damn. This time it’s in IRAN.
And it's five, six, seven - open up the pearly gates
Well there ain't no time to wonder why. Whoopee! we're all gonna die.

Well, come on Christians, don’t be shy. Get high with God when you die.
So, if you want more courage to feel, just draw on religious zeal.
And let’s all pray when they drop the bomb, at last it’s Armageddon.*
And it's one, two, three, what are we fighting for?
Don't ask me, I don't give a damn. This time it’s in IRAN
And it's five, six, seven, open up the pearly gates
Well, there ain't much time to wonder why … … we're all gonna die!

Donald Trump was having trouble
With an Epstein story.
He needed a distraction
To restore his former glory.
What, oh what was it?
Trump had a toddler fit.
He looked around
And then he found
The war for you and me
And now it's

Springtime for Donald and America
Greenland is happy and gay
We're marching to a faster pace
Look out
Here comes the big disgrace

Springtime for Donald and America
Winter for Iran and oil
Springtime for Donald and America
Come on, MAGAs
Go into your dance

He was born in downtown Queens
And that is why he is a dream
Don't be stupid, be a smarty
Come and join his racist party

Springtime for Donald and Neocons
Ice camps are the new camps today
Bombs falling from the skies again
MAGA is on the rise again

Springtime for Donald and America
War ships are sailing once more
Springtime for Donald and America
Means that we have no more allies
Not a single ally
You know we are going to war
