Subject: Origins: Oh Elvis I wish I could sing like you

I'm searching for a lost song. I remember a couple lines from a very cool song I heard in the 70s but I don't know who sung it nor do I know the title.

First verse started and finished with "Oh Elvis, I wish I could sing like you" A later verse was the same structure but sung to "James" (Taylor), this time with backup vocals that sounded just like the singers on Carolina on my Mind. It had a very sparse folky sound to it.

Does this ring a bell? It's driving me nuts!

Any clues would be most appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

John
