A bit late to this thread but I found that the Teesside Fettlers recorded an album in 1983 called "Silk On Steel" using the name Anvil, with the lineup of Stewart McFarlane, Bob Skingle and Adrian Beadnell. It seems it was only put out on cassette (I am after a copy if anyone has one). If the album was release in 1983 that might explain why they are introduced as "Anvil" on that 1985 programme. Also there is just 3 members of the group when on previous albums they recorded with 4.

"A 1985 video of the Teesside Fettlers crossing the Middlesbrough Transporter on board a 1920's charabanc."

Joe, when I open your link that comes up. I don't understand the Anvil reference either.

Thanks to you, Kitty, I got in touch with Carol - but she no longer has the recordings of the two cuts.

#, if those are the Teesside Fettlers in the video (which I believe), why are they introduced as a local group called "Anvil"? Is that some kind of British joke that's beyond my American sense of humo(u)r?

His name is Graeme Miles in the event misspelling is hindering anyone's search.

Joe, that IS the Teesside Fettlers.
Hi, # - I left the incorrect spelling to help people who don's know how to spell Graeme's name. There are plenty of other threads with his name spelled correctly, and they're all cross-indexed up top. -Joe-

Here's a recording of "Ring of Iron" by a group called Anvil:I got an e-mail request from somebody looking for a copy of the first Teesside Fettlers recording of "Ring of Iron" and "20 Pound Dog." At one time, a Mudcatter named Carol offered to make a cassette of the two songs for anyone who asked, but my attempts to contact Carol were unsuccessful. Or is "Anvil" the Teesside Fettlers?
