Subject: RE: Lyrics Request: Cunla (Chieftains) From: gargoyle Date: 13 Jul 99 - 09:25 PM Before you do it Joe....AHHHHHHHHHH!!!! Howdy Charles, VERY Glad to have you at the Mudcat, we are VERY friendly sort of folk. In any single year there are over a thousand requests for lyrics.......and only one-in-a-hundred members will click on "request for lyrics".....however, if a thread is titled the name of the song, i.e. Cunla those that relate to it....91.9% will give you a responce. Now I sincerely, doubt that I have your answer but search back through the 24 hour, reposted discussion for CUNLA and perhaps others can give you a version different than the one I have from Christy Moore. Seek and Ye Shall Find

Subject: RE: Lyrics Request: Cunla (Chieftains) From: Barbara Date: 14 Jul 99 - 12:55 AM I wuz gonna say, I found it in DT years ago, humsodever, Dick, it had a really weird tune. I'll check it again and see if you've updated it. Blessings, Barbara (who is keeping her nose clean by staying off the Phlatulence thread) |
Subject: RE: Lyrics Request: Cunla (Chieftains) From: Barbara Date: 14 Jul 99 - 12:59 AM Nope, the first part still sounds strange. I think there's something the matter with the time. I can't tell where the words go. |
Subject: RE: Lyrics Request: Cunla (Chieftains) From: dick greenhaus Date: 14 Jul 99 - 01:48 PM Barbara- I'll check into the tune. |
Subject: RE: Lyrics Request: Cunla (Chieftains) From: Barbara Date: 15 Jul 99 - 10:05 AM Thanks Dick. You might enjoy knowing that I managed to fit the words to the tune -- it comes out in something like 9/8 -- and I actually sang it that way a few times. People gave me some very wierd looks and comments. So I quit. The melody may be right. I think it's just the notes in the verse part all have equal value now, and they need to be short and long. Blessings, Barbara |
