Any Corrs fans may be interested in knowing that there is a track on the Chieftans's album 'Tears from Stone' that is called 'I Know my Love'.

I am not really a Corrs fan but I really liked it though this may be partially because I already knew the song as it appears on a CD I have by Ian Campbell Folk Band.

I have the lyrics and chords for this song (trad) if anyone is interested.

Sean.

The lyrics and tune are in the DT Sean, but I'm sure a number of people would enjoy the chords.

Regards
John

How would I go about putting the chords in ?

Do I need to submit a full text with chords included ?

Will this overwrite the lyrics already in the database ?

Sean McR.

Sean,

nothing you post here interferes with the database. If you do not want to type the lyrics again (you shouldn't want to do that?), just copy&paste the relevant bit like first verse and chorus from the database and then insert the chords. Then we'll have the chords here in the forum and can always refind them by a Forum Search.

Wolfgang

Subject: Chords: I KNOW MY LOVE (from The Chieftains)
From: Sean Mac Ruaraidh

Here are some chords, very simple, for I KNOW MY LOVE.

First Verse (other three are the same)
 D~~~~~~~~~~A~~~~~~~~~~D~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~A~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I know my love by his way of walking and I know my love by
~~~~~D~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~A~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~D~~~~~~~~~~~
his way of talking and I know my love by his suit of blue
~~~~~~~A~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~D~~~~~~~~~~
but if my love leaves me what will I do ?

Chorus

~~~~A~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~D~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~A~~~~
And yet she cries I love him the best but a troubled mind
~~~~~~~~~D~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~A~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~D~~~~~~~~~~~
sure can know no rest and yet she cries bonny boys are few
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~A~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~D~~~
and if my love leaves me what will I do ?
I'm really interested to know the name of the jig/reel that serves as the bridge in this song. Does anyone know what it's called? Or does anyone know where I could find the sheet music for it?
Johnny K, that would come out of a specific arrangement of the song, rather than the song itself, so what album/performers is the version that you're interested it?
