Subject: Norma Waterson: Bright Shiny Morning From: Garry Gillard Date: 16 Oct 00 - 09:11 PM Norma Waterson's beautiful all-traditional CD Bright Shiny Morning has just been released, and I've transcribed all the words of all the songs (except for a couple of words I need help with, such as some place names in The Flower of Sweet Strabane). |
Subject: RE: Norma Waterson: Bright Shiny Morning From: Noreen Date: 16 Oct 00 - 09:41 PM Hi Garry, The Mourne river flows through Strabane and Lifford before it joins the sea at Lough Foyle, so I should think the missing words could be Farewell bonny Lifford and to Mourne's sweet waterside and Sailing down Lough Foyle. Although I know the song well, I've not heard this version or this verse. Noreen |
