I have my 12-string tuned down 5 frets -- B E A D F# B -- and it's a pain to get new strings, as the low B never matches the others. Are there any custom manufacturers in the UK that can supply a matched set in funny gauges?

A freind of mine who had a music shop had Rotosound supply him a couple of sets, e.g. "Irish tenor banjo" in custom guages. I would imagine other manufacturers would do the same.

I'd be doubtful though that any of them would be making custom sets for individuals and suspect you will have to buy singles and make up your own sets from them.

Not too sure he does them, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

Malcolm Newton at Newtone should certainly be able to help at the email given by John Barden above. He has made up custom sets for me in the past without problem and the strings (made by him) are of good quality.
