Subject: RE: Rick's Album a Go again. (almost certain) From: Bob Bolton Date: 07 Jan 04 - 10:09 PM G'day Rick, Will the CD be available through Mudcat-linked channels? I want one, no matter how, but when I go through the angst of squeezing Aussie dollars halfway round the world through the ether, I like to pick up a few items all in one hit (like some more recent Art Thieme CDs, for starters!) and that keeps down the packing/mailing costs as well. (I'll just get back to pencilling in the rest of my wish list!) Regards, Bob Bolton |

The other good news is that Rick's Banjo Mutes are in the process of being manufactured, so they should be available again very soon. |

Subject: RE: Rick's Album a Go again. (almost certain) From: Jeri Date: 07 Jan 04 - 09:12 AM I heard early versions - 7 songs - on Rick's 'Accoustic Workshop' radio show on Dec 15th. I just happened to be present when Paul brought a later version over for Rick to listen to. I think I'm going to really love this one. As Paul stated, it's 'pure Fielding'. Wonderful songs, both old and new, and of course, great pickin'. Paul, please count me among your minions in the lower 48. |

Subject: RE: Rick's Album a Go again. (almost certain) From: GUEST,Paul M Date: 07 Jan 04 - 01:07 AM It's been quite a while since I've posted to the Mudcat but the recent work with Rick has led me to this thread. It has reminded me what a wonderful community this is. I should check in more often! I just delivered the master and final artwork for the CD to Borealis this afternoon. Rick and I are both really pleased with the final result. Speaking for myself, I think that you'll find that this is "pure Fielding" - straight ahead and honest. Lot's of hot picking, great energy and a wonderful collection of old and old-sounding songs. The title we settled on is "Acoustic Workshop" which is also the name of Rick's radio show (as most of you know). It was real important to me that this project get done and I'm so glad that Rick agreed and was able to put the effort in. Thanks, buddy! I'll let you all know when a release date is set. Cheers, Paul Mills |

And if I didn't mention it before, of course I'll be ordering!!! Spaw |

Subject: RE: Rick's Album a Go again. (almost certain) From: Rick Fielding Date: 18 Dec 03 - 03:28 AM Well,I went to the studio for the first time in two years to try and finish this off, and it was quite an effort.....just no real energy. Played some dulcimer and sang a back up part. God bless Paul Mills for his great encouragement (not to mention fine playing and production. We're trying to waste no time (obviously) and the title is "Tradition", cuz this is not modern music. We'll let you know about how to get it in a few weeks....still gotta do the cover and notes but so far I like it. It's got quite abit of pickin (done last year when I could still pick) and some older ballads. JUst leave your name (I'll save this thread) and we'll work it out. Thanks Mudcat. Love Rick |

We will want at least two and will send a check as soon as you post the info. Subject: RE: Rick's Album a Go again. (almost certain) From: Willie-O Date: 16 Dec 03 - 07:21 PM "Little Rock Getaway"? I thought that was a Bill Clinton tune... Les Paul? Joe Sullivan? Who knows? Seriously, that I want to hear. Y'know, Amos Garrett lifted the main lick from that tune and used it for the B part of his rendition of Wildwood Flower--sounds real nice that way. (Can't remember how it goes, just that I asked him how he did that with Wildwood Flower and that's what he told me)... W-O |
