Hi Can only remember one verse of this one.Would like it all,as I need to sing it again. It somehow feels timely.Searched the net but so far only found the 'famous' verse which I already know.

Many Thanks in Advance :) Bowdhy

I did find a sound sample, here, but I'm no good at transcribing lyrics.

NO HOLE IN MY HEAD -- Malvina Reynolds

Everybody thinks my head's full of nothin',
Wants to put his special stuff in,
Fill the space with candy wrappers,
Keep out sex and revolution,
But there's no hole in my head. Too bad.

Call me a dupe of this and the other,
Call me a puppet on a string,
They don't know my heads full of me and
That I have my own special thing,
And there's no hole in my head. Too bad.

I have lived since early childhood
Figuring out what's going on,
I know what hurts, I know what's easy,
When to stand and when to run,
And there's no hole in my head. Too bad.

So, please stop shouting in my ear,
There's something I want to listen to,
There's a kind of birdsong up somewhere,
There's feet walking the way I mean to go,
And there's no hole in my head. Too bad.

from the Malvina Reynolds Songbook.

Cheers, S. in Seattle

haunting me a little - I need to listen to that right here, right now!
Thankyou very much.

That's actually one of my favorite Malvina songs. It's on Rosalie Sorrels' CD "No Closing Chord: The Songs Of Malvina Reynolds." Malvina recorded that on "Malvina Reynolds" CCR 5100, Century Records - that's way out of print, but Nancy Schimmel, Malvina's daughter, might have it still have it. It's also in SingOut! Vol.20/#3 Jan/Feb 1971.

Cheers, S. in Seattle
