Subject: RE: Tech: piano accordion tunings From: The Fooles Troupe Date: 07 Feb 06 - 09:31 PM This info (details on the various types of 'wetness' tunings) should be in the Accordion Permathread - a Joeclone will link it in sooner or later, I pray... Thanks to those who have submitted details of tuners. |
Subject: RE: Tech: piano accordion tunings From: Tootler Date: 07 Feb 06 - 05:43 AM Try contacting Theo Gibb. He is based in Gateshead and repairs free reed instruments. He is a folky himself and plays melodeon. His wife plays piano accordion, so he will know what you want. Theo's Website is here |
Subject: RE: Tech: piano accordion tunings From: squeezyal Date: 07 Feb 06 - 02:50 AM I'm in the Midlands but the guy who does my repairs (and is very good) will tune if I can get him the specs. Can you let me have contact details for your guy? Many thanks |

Subject: Tech: piano accordion tunings From: squeezyal Date: 06 Feb 06 - 04:56 PM Does anyone know who might offer specialist advice on accordion tuning? I have spoken to one or two accordionists who have had their boxes retuned to a dryer sound for Irish or Scottish playing and read all the usual web ifo but need some exact specifications for my local repairer who is not a folky and not familiar with these tunings. Thanks |
